just returned from my 1st completely solo 7night wdw vacation

and cannot wait to do it again! you guys were right - its wonderful

- met lots of wonderful people who i wouldnt have met if with someone
- could change my itinerary at the last minute w/out needing to discuss it w/someone else
- could go from early am till after the fireworks and take my breaks when I needed them
- could do my drinking around the world w/out my DS saying "mom, not again!"

going back to do it again in Nov (after I bring out son for a week in Aug)

I'm going solo for the 1st time. Leaving in 16 days. DH couldn't get away and I really wanted to see Flower and Garden Festival. Plus I'm going to do a behind the scenes tour that he wasn't that keen on. Will I miss him? Yes--Will I still have a good time? YES!!!

Hey, me too (May 2005, Dec 2006, and will be there again for my third solo trip (May 5th-13th). Can't wait!

I would love to do a solo trip. I just worry about the feelings of guilt that I would have for not taking the kids. I always say I am going to do it but then thay give me those looks of horror. Glad you had a great time. I can just imagine the things that are possible to do when you are by yourself there.

I thought of this too but I did give DS (and DH) the choice to come w/me or not. And they were both fine w/me going solo so I didnt feel the guilt. It actually proved to me that DS is growing up and can be left on his own more (had to wake himself up and get off to school himself as DH leaves for work early).

Glad you had a great time. I wish I'd gotten to the meet at the correct time to visit. You forgot one other advantage-eating whatever you want at "mealtime". Boy, school bread and gelato are two excellent breakfast foods. And there's no better dinner than a No Way Jose sundae.

OMG -- it's it soo fun to get away alone! Much as you love your fam, the break in your fave place is just unbelieve isn't it!!!! now your all set for your next trip in Nov alone, I wish I could sneak away and meet you down there but no extra $$ right now.. I am soo glad you had a great time!!

Wow, I am so jealous. I have heard the "mom not again" phrase to many times from my DD, especially when I get to Italy. They have the best sparkling wine that you drink with one of their dark chocolates

I had the pleasure of meeting the OP (Barb) at WDW while on MY solo trip! I am jealous because she got to hear Off Kilter for 5 days and I heard them only 2!

I'll be back for a solo week in October - can't wait!

Am really thinking about a solo trip next Feb. Want to stay at Pop and get DDp of course!! Would love to be able to meet up with other Dissers for some meals and touring. Most of my DisneyWorld trips are Solo I go to character meals by myself and I go on rides by myself and I like to walk around the park by myself If I want to go on Space Mountain I don't have to ask my friend if they want to go on the ride, because I am by myself Going to DisneyWorld Solo is Awesome

I took my Norway doll to DisneyWorld I took her to a character meal in Epcot and they loved her The character meal was in Norway I also took her on it's a small world and she just loved it She is a Children of the World doll and she looks like a Small World doll, so she just loved it's a Small World and she made some new friends on that ride When I take my Norway doll with me to DisneyWorld that is like a Solo trip, because she is happy to go anywhere I take her

I am glad that you had a lot of fun going to DisneyWorld Solo Going Solo is so much fun Some people like to have someone with them when they go to DisneyWorld and that is awesome and others like to go to DisneyWorld Solo and that is awesome People like to have fun and enjoy life in different ways and I think that is awesome I think it's awesome that we are all different
