I loved this resort! As a DVC member, we usually only stay at our home resort and thought that Cornonado Springs looked like it was "too far away" from the rest of the action. We were down there for my sister's last minute wedding at the Boardwalk (was supposed to be in Key West but the hotel cancelled the week before the wedding). CSR was the only resort with the availability we needed (10 rooms). We loved the pool, the Pepper Mill was good and fairly affordable, the lake was really nice to walk around and it was quiet. Since my dh and our kids already had an 8 day trip planned for January, we really tried to stay away from the parks. We liked that CSR, while beautiful, was quiet and didn't feel quiet as Disney to us as BWV. That might just be because we have BWV in our minds as what Disney means to us. As a mom, I liked that we didn't walk through a lobby/gift shop area everytime we wanted to swim or eat.

We also liked the exterior corridors, which I've never liked before. With my three kids in the wedding party (the only kids there) it was nice that they could go from room to room without worrying about disturbing other guests. We had all of our rooms in a row and most were adjoining.

The rooms were nice, a bit tight after being used to villas, but spacious enough. Made me realize how truly spoiled we are.

I was very surprised how crowded it was. We had a devil of a time even reserving rooms. Downtown Disney was packed, we waited about 15 minutes at Earl of Sandwich each time we went there, every restaurant had very long waits. We didn't go into the parks, because of our other trip in six weeks, but I heard mixed reports about how busy they were. On Monday, 12/5 my sister and daughter had their hair done at GF salon and I was amazed at how packed the lobby was at 10:30am. I am thinking that maybe the non-park areas were extra busy because people were shopping and looking at decorations?

I was also amazed and disappointed at the California Grill's lack of dress code. We had eaten there several years ago (wow, I guess it's been 10!) and the guys wore sports coats and us ladies wore dress slacks. We had the reception there Monday night in the Napa Room and I couldn't believe the way people were dressed going up in the elevator; shorts, tank tops, baseball hats. My biggest pet peeve in the entire world is men wearing hats in restaurants. The food was amazing, as always. Not sure what we ate as the menu was predetermined. The kid's dessert Rice Krispie Sushi was the cutest thing I've ever seen, but my pics didn't turn out.

Wedding was at the Boardwalk, SeaBreeeze Point (I think that was the name). It was really fun, the boat captains drove close by after the wedding was over so that everyone could get close up to see the bride. The kids were dancing by the railing and they ate that up.

Weather was amazing!
A fun time for all!
