My DW, DD (6) and I just came back from a wonderful, quick trip down to WDW to celebrate the end of summer and our DD starting first grade (she started the day after we returned). We had a 1 BR at BWV with a Boardwalk view. Here are some thoughts we had about the resort and our room:

Pro:
* Fantastic view of the boardwalk, water and SSE in Epcot. Just can't beat that view. It was so relaxing. My DW loved to lie on the bed with the balcony door open and look outside.
* The music from the boardwalk that played from 8 AM - 11 PM really puts you in the WDW mood. We would leave the windows open and enjoy the atmosphere.
* The room itself was bigger than expected. We had stayed at a studio at BWV before, but this was much better (obviously).
* The sofa bed was new and very comfortable for our DD (6). It is also much easier to open and close than the older sofa beds.
* Mousekeeping and maintenance were really on the ball this trip. In the hallway, my DW noticed a chip of plaster that wasn't there the day before. It looked like somone had run into the wall. Next day, the chip was gone. Hallways were spotless and everything looked clean.
* The quite pool was a bigger hit than even the Luna Park pool with our DD. She just loves to swim in the quiet pool.
* It's great being in walking distance from both Epcot and DS. Took advantage of watching Illuminations twice and then just walking back to our room.
* Check in was great. Our room was ready when we arrived at 10 AM!

Cons:
* The boardwalk atmosphere does have its price. On Saturday night, the music from the Dance Hall was so loud we had to shut our balcony doors. The good news is that the doors are very thick and completely blocked out the sound. Also, on Monday night, at 1:30 AM, a large group exited Jellyrolls that had had a bit too much to drink and were very loud and woke us up. Again, the doors shut out the sound. If we had the doors shut the whole time, we probably never would have heard anything. But it was great at night to sleep to the sounds of the boardwalk.
* The BWV gift shop really needs an overhaul like the one at BCV received. It would be great to have a quick place to grab sandwiches and salads.

Overall, we had more than a magical time and look forward to our trip back in December (5 nights at BCV and 3 nights at OKW). If there are any questions, let us know and we will be glad to answer!

:thumbsup2

I can't believe you sleep with the doors open :goodvibes

those were the sounds of the BOARDWALK :rotfl2: (EARLY MORNING)

GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME WE LOVE IT THERE :cool1: :cool1:

I can't wait for our trip in November....it will be our first with the Boardwalk view. Its great to read some positive feedback verses some posts complaining about the noise........

Sounds like you had a great time. We're going to be staying at BWV in March. I have never stayed there myself, but I love to go there and enjoy the fun of Boardwalk. Thank you for your report!

There is nothing like being able to see Illuminations, stroll back to your resort, sit out on the balcony with some drinks and just watch the people on the boardwalk, listen to the background music and look out over the water to SSE. In our opinion, it is worth the extra points because of the extra magic it brings us.

::yes::

We love BWV. We are now empty nesters and are taking our vacations as two mostly. We tried BCV last year for the first time, and it really wasn't our cup of tea. However, I would recommend any family of 3 or more to try BCV... it is really quite wonderful for the kids. The pool is VERY cool. I think the resort in general is better geared for kids. Glad you had a good time. We're headed to VB tomorrow

We'll be staying in a 1 BR at BWV in February. Glad to hear everything was in good shape and you had a great time!

My DH and I are leaving in 11 days for our first trip home (well, we own at SSR) to the BWV. We are in a 1 BR BW View. The wait is killing me!!!!

I'm glad you had such a great trip!!

Someday we will splurge for a BW view!!!!

Bobbi :)

Glad you enjoyed your trip!! Boardwalk view is our favorite too. We get very little sleep because we have a hard time leaving the balcony at night.

We are staying at BWV for the first time in October. I wanted to be at one of the Epcot resorts for the F&W fest!!! We are really looking forward to being able to walk to Epcot & MGM (a longer walk, but that's ok)

I cant wait to see Illuminations and not have to worry about getting back to the bus and dealing with a full crowd! It will be great to walk back.

It will also be our first trip with our daughter - so it is good to know that the noise level is minimal if the doors are closed. I believe we have a preferred garden view - so I think we will get pool noise versus boardwalk noise anyway.

Yeah, the doors did a great job shutting out the noise. Hope they are the same all around!

Thanks for posting! We leave for BWV this Sunday - BW view - one bedroom!, Can't wait - but we'll be sleeping with doors shut tight! :goodvibes
