We just got back today from a six day stay at the BCV's. If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to try to answer them. By the way, we had a GREAT stay!! It was our first time at BC and we thought it was awesome.

I'm glad you had a great time, that's our home resort. We love it too.

I am so glad you had a great stay!! We are headed there in 10 days!! We stayed at the BC hotel once and LOVED it, but this is our first stay in a villa as DVC members.

Was the pool very crowded in the afternoons? How was your weather, very humid and hot, I imagine? Did you do any EMH at night? Thanks and again so glad you enjoyed it there!! :sunny:

I am so glad to hear you had a great stay. We are headed to the BCV in 34 days for our first stay as well.

Is it easy to get around the resort itself? This will be our first trip with our almost 3 year old DS.

Any other tips you have would be great as well.

Thanks

Glad you had a great time-one of our home resorts. Did you have any gelato at the Marketplace? When we were there, there was hardly anyone at the marketplace. Even though there were only about 4-5 tables, rarely anyone sitting. Is it still like that or getting busier as word gets out?

Hi everyone! I'm envious of all of you that are getting ready to go on your trip ;) ! I'm so sad to be back. I'll try to answer a few of the above questions:

SAB was pretty crowded in the afternoons but you could always find chairs. Almost every afternoon they ended up closing the pool area due to thunderstorms. Our timing was bad. It seemed like everytime we'd hit the pool, they'd give the "clear pool and pool deck" shout. The quiet pool never closed so we'd head over there as long as it wasn't lightening. There was only one day they had a CM standing by the towel area asking for resort ids and handing out wrist bands. The other five days no one was checking for id's. The weather was pretty hot & humid, but honestly not much worse if any than the weather we're having here in Illinois, so we were pretty much used to it. And we definitely paced ourselves. We'd go to the parks early in the a.m. and head back to relax/swim and then head back in the evenings. We went to SAB a couple of evenings but they closed at 10 p.m. The resort itself was fantastic. I loved it. I cannot wait to go back. This trip it was just me, my 8 y/o DS and my mother. My 10 y/o DD and DH weren't able to come with us so I can't wait to go back with them. All of the CM's were very helpful and nice. I loved the short walk to Epcot and BW and the short boat ride to MGM. We watched Illuminations from the beach a couple of nights and you could see some of the high fireworks from SAB. Our last night we watched them from the bridge leading over to BW. Our home resort is VWL, and we love it, but my goal is to eventually try to talk DH into buying some points at BCV's (if they ever become available, I'm not sure about this) because I loved it soooo much. Marketplace was very nice and convenient. It was never too crowded. Most of the people you saw were getting things to go. I didn't try to gelato, but I wish I would have. We never did do any EMH at night. It seemed like we were always too tired. Any other questions, please just let me know. And for all of you who have upcoming trips, I hope you have a great time, I'm sure you will!! :goodvibes

I'm glad to read that you had such a nice time!

SOunds like a great trip. DId you enjoy the cruise too??

Actually we aren't doing the cruise until May. I fixed my signature line b/c the way I had it written made it look like we just did the cruise. I am really excited about the cruise though. We've never cruised before. I love having something to look forward to!!

Nance Thanks for your replies. Again, glad you had a fun trip.

I know what you mean about those thundershowers in the late afternoon. 2 years ago, when we stayed at the BC (our first time there and very excited about the pool), we checked in, went to our room and as soon as we got to SAB, they had to close it because of thunder etc. Needless to say, my then 10 year old son, was really upset he could not try the pool until the next day. A couple of other times they closed the pool late afternoons too. Here we are going the same time of year again this year and unfortunately, am expecting more of the same. I am just praying no hurricanes, of course.

Have fun planning your next trip, the cruise!! We have never been on a cruise either. :flower:

How was the bus transportation to the other locations. Our last trip to BCV we had very bad experiences getting on buses or having to stand on buses for the long rides. I felt bad for the BW & BWV bus riders since that stop was after ours. My biggest complaint with being at the BCV is that the bus line is shared with the Dolphin and the Swan along with the Beach and Yacht club guests. There's just too many guests all trying to access the buses with not enough buses.
