Just returned from an 11 day stay -- Please read

There needs to be more of this, and less of the whining and moaning that has become all to frequent here as of late.

Mousemommy1, awesome post! You not only made my morning with your realistic perspectives (it must be the New Englander in ya :goodvibes), but added to my own excitement for my own upcoming visit to the world in 19 days! :thumbsup2

Thank the great report. I love hearing honest reports. I know there will be good and bad, but it is nice to hear it.

We did July once and then said we would never do summer again. We have since done Mar and Dec. Well you know they say never say never, we just booked June of next year. I plan on using all the great information from the boards to survive it.

I see from your siggie, you've cruised on the Dream...we are planning on incorporating a 4 night Bahamas cruise into our April 2013 WDW vacation. We've never cruised before...any tips? You could PM me. :goodvibes

So glad to see a positive report. I totally think that going into something with a great attitude makes a big difference!

;) :thumbsup2

I think the straw that broke my back on these reviews was the one who needed urgent help as they were in WDW, didn't like their candy apple, and needed to URGENTLY find out if they would be able to exchange it for another, or get their money back...really??? :faint:

I don't like Dole Whips either. :scared1:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Now that's just un-Disney. :rotfl2:

This was a great report. I think some people go with way too many expectations that can be unrealistic. There are always going to be good and bad on trips even at Disney.

Looking forward to what happens on our trip in May next year. We will pretty much go with the flow and few if any ADRs. Can't wait.

I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip!!! We want to do less ADR's for our trip in April (we will probably only book Be Our Guest - if we can, and Ohana)...it will be nice not to be tied down to ADR's for once. And, we are not going to use the DDP on next trip. We will use TIW instead. Very interested to see how that goes.

I agree with you about managing expectations. People sometimes do go in with unrealistic expectations...those unrealistic expectations coupled with a sense of entitlement are a dangerous combination in the Dis-world. :goodvibes

LOVED the report! We're going to WL in 29 days, 2 hours (but who's counting) and can't wait!

RE: weather being hotter in NH than Disney ...... the first year we went, I read report after report about how HOT WDW was - oh, not just "regular" hot, but surface-of-the-sun, blast furnace hot. Well, being from Minnesota, the weather was pretty much like a typical hot humid Minnesota summer! And we thought 2010 felt cooler than 2009.

After reading just about every thread here in DIS, I felt our first trip would be minefield of bad food, poor service, huge lines, crabby CMs and so on. WE HAD A GREAT TIME and have had a great time everytime we've been to WDW (and DL). Glad that you had a great time!

OP, great posts. Looking forward to my own trip in October. Every time I read a post complaining about the decline at Disney, I always have to think back to my previous trips and evaluate whether that particular issue would've made a difference in my enjoying myself. Some things you don't notice until others point it out, but if it wouldn't have made a difference then why stress it now.

Glad you had fun! You are absolutely right about reading reports. Sometimes you do not even notice something unless there was a hot discussion here. I have no idea what was suppose to be missing from Kali River and to me everything was in place. I made a huge mistake this time by listening to all horrible reports about long FP lines and made my family go for RD first 3 days, which kind of messed those days and we hated it so much. Turned to be we did not see any long FP lines and did not need to worry at all.
Point is, sometimes Dis like to play "scary stories" and when you listen to this mess, you mess your vacation. I agree, go , exprerience on your own, make judgement call based on your experience and have fun! Welcome back!

Just back reports are my favorite types of threads, but I agree with you that people should take every single thing that is said as reality. It was only that one person's reality.

I can't believe you got into a 115 minute line though. Bad Diser! Bad!

I almost choked on my chips after reading that!

I don't subscribe to touring plans either!
We sleep late and attend evening EMH's!

But guess what? We rode every single ride, and all of the headliners at least twice. DD8 rode EE 3 x in a half hour time period...

I love the Dis, it has a wealth of information, just most of the information that I tend to ignore.

I think you are my hero! :worship:

I must have missed your rant, but I enjoyed your observations! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, that's about as "ranty" as I get. I'm pretty chill :cool2: which probably makes all the difference in the World (pun intended). :rotfl2:

First and foremost, the "rule":

Second, great post! :thumbsup2

What are you, some kind of rule follower???

The only reason I didn't quote it was because it was so well done, a copy would have diminished its intrinsic beauty. :rolleyes1
