Another GREAT trip! We were in 5221. This is a the 1 bedroom portion of a lock off unit on the end of building 52. We had friends staying in the 2 bedroom next door (5222) for the first half of the trip, so it was great to be so close to them. I was worried about noise knowing that this is the building where the buses turn around before stopping at the South Point bus stop, but we never heard them at all! It was actually less bus noise than when we have stayed in building 55! There we always heard the brakes. We were on the second floor and heard nothing from any of our neighbors. The residents of the studio next to us were older, and rarely were out. This unit was VERY clean! They had replaced the dishes, bedspreads and small appliances. Major appliances seemed to be the same though. We had maintainance up the first day to fix a leak in the fridge. He said they had just had an information meeting the night before telling them how they would be revamping the islands that house the TV etc. They are doing away with the doors of the island because they break too often. They are also replacing the Tv's with flat screens and putting in DVD players.

Welcome Home from "Home", Diane! :teeth:

So glad to hear you had a great time and were very happy with your accommodations. You mentioned they replaced this dishes and spreads, etc. Were they just newer or have they replaced the design? While our "home" is BWV, we have stayed several times at OKW and enjoyed our stay immensely.

Did you have good weather (which means anything better and warmer than Minnesota!)

And one final question....have you been out to your log home? I imagine you have seen drastic changes since you left!

we stayed in a 1bdrm at OKW rm 5311 and fell in love with it! The area near the Southpoint bus stop is great. I am glad you had a good trip! :D

Diane thanks for the update on OKW.We are counting down the days (25) until we are there for Presidents week.:D

Still the same fiesta ware, just newer. Same pattern on the spreads too, but they have recovered the upholstered chairs in both the bedroom and living room. The fabric on the LR chair was nice and matched the decor well, but the bedroom chair kind of clashed with the nice pink and white stripes. It looked more like in belonged in a victorian house than OKW! It was more comfortable with the heavier fabric though.

Yes, Pat, we saw MAJOR changes at our log home. Windows are mostly in except for the special order ones in the gable ends, and they are working fast to try and get everything closed up tight so it isn't so cold to work out there!

We had very comfortable weather for us while in FL. It was high 40's at night and between 60-73 during the day. It was always nice and sunny, so that made it feel warmer than it actually was. We wore shorts, but lots of folks were dressed for winter!;)

I'm jealous! Glad you had another great trip.

Yes, South Point is always our favorite too. They were painting trim while we were there, and on our check out day, DH opened the door to find a guy up checking the paint job at the top of the door! Quality control at work at WDW!!! It was kind of humerous! I think both he and DH nearly had a heart attack!

Diane:

Welcome back! What a nice break from the cold weather here....I bet you were wondering if you would come back to a few snow drifts???? The only snow weve had around here is the man made snow at Buck Hill......

We are aching to get back to okw so it's nice to hear about the changes.,

Doug
