We had the BEST room location - Room 1601 Samoa. We were so close to everything! My only complaint - no towel displays from housekeeping. I even asked them one day to please do something since it was my mom's first visit and I wanted her to see how cute they are, but housekeeping said the one person who knows how to do them is off this week. Bummer!!

Everything else was perfect! I'm sold and returning soon!!

Glad to hear you had a nice time. We had 1607 or 1609 Samoa last Summer. We were in Garden View Concierge but switched rooms to Samoa. I thought it was a much better location.(We still kept our Conc Benefits however) It was great walking out to the Pool from the slider.

We'll be back this July. This time it will be Lagoon View Conc.

I have a room booked in Samoa in April, and have been wondering about the room numbers. From your post I assume that the odd numbered rooms are on the Volcano Pool side of Samoa....is that right?

Are there patios off the sliders on the first floor? Does anyone know about the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms in Samoa....do they have balconies, and if so, are they large enough to sit on? Do they have table or chairs on them?

Samoa is a great location isn't it. DH, DS2 and I had 1608 a couple of summers ago and loved it. When all three of our children were young, we often stayed in rooms that were first floor on that side. Ahhhh, memories!

Thanks for posting your comments on your wonderful "first-time" stay at the poly! We have always loved this property, and enjoyed the theme and accommodations, especially the views. :goodvibes Towel creations are a hit/miss thing. Hopefully next time, you will receive some fun "cloth creations" during your stay! :cloud9:

Glad you had a great time. We had room 1602 once. I think the location is awesome too. I opened the curtain and yelled volcano to our 3 ds. They were laughing at me. What a great location for mug runs, pool runs, captain cooks, gch, well I guess the secret is out.

calhous2 - the 2 floor rooms do not have a balcony. I have seen posters who enjoy the 3rd floor balacony, but I havent been up there myself.

I had originally requested a 3rd floor balcony room and was offered this room instead. I had my doubts staying on the first floor. We usually get a family of "gorillas" above us. But I have to say, we heard nothing. It was so quite. No loud neighbors above or next door. I did enjoy having the patio for my son to crawl on the grass (we live in the city so this was a HUGE treat for him). The weather was very cool we were only able to enjoy the patio on our last day before we left for the airport.

I would love to return in warmer weather to enjoy all the water activities.

One tip we discovered - one night coming back from Epcot we took the walkway from the TTC and it wasn't worth it. We got so lost. We didn't realize how far we really were from the TTC and how close we were to the monorail stop in the main building. We never walked to the TTC again.
