Just Returned! Any Questions About These Restaurants?

Thanks for the pics, DisneyDaz! Our server at RR brought us a copy of the chef's cookbook to look over. I am definitely going to buy his book-just hope the fabulous Bread & Butter pudding recipe is in it! :cool1:

Any more questions? I love answering your questions-it keeps me goin' until our next trip! :upsidedow

I seemed to have forgotten to list a couple of things we had for Breakfast at 'Ohana. :headache: Here's the "correct menu."

Breakfast was yummy! Everything was so fresh and hot. :thumbsup2 They first bring out a refreshing & yummy tropical juice and two kinds of warm bread (one pineapple) with whipped nut butter. Then came the "skillet" with scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage-all cooked perfectly!-and Mickey waffles and warm buttermilk biscuits. Also served is a fruit plate-sweet and delish! A great way to start a day in Disney!:cool1:

:) Would love to hear about breaksfast with Lilo & Stitch at Ohana. Are there other characters there too, was the food good? We have an early ressie at 7:55am (travel by monorail from Floridian). I made it early so we can get to whichever park we go to that day shortly after opening..... Not sure if I should rethink that early ressie before they book! Let me know your feedback/thoughts. Thanks!

Service was excellent!! :thumbsup2

The characters: Lilo & Stitch were great! And the parade they do with the kids was cool-my son got to lead the parade with Stitch. :thumbsup2 We were disappointed, however, that Mickey and Pluto never made it to our table, even though we we were there quite some time. :confused3 Yet we will happily return to Breakfast at 'Ohana! ps Keep the early ressie, in my opinion-it is a GREAT way to start a day in Disney!!

Thanks for the info, will keep the early Ressie... by the way, what time had you gone for breakfast and about what time did you get to which park that day? Just curious..... Thanks.

Our ADR was for 9:10 am. We checked in about 10 minutes early and were told that it would be a 30 minute wait. However, the "buzzer" they gave us went off after only 15 minutes. We wanted a leisurely breakfast for our last day, and so I would say that we spent about an hour there. So that brings us to about 10:15? We tthen strolled down to the boat ramp, chatting with CMs along the way and then waited about 10 minutes for the boat. then 5 minutes to get to MK...then a good 5 minutes chatting with the Boat Captain..then another few minutes getting a "No Strings Attached" pass....Hmmmmm, I just realized...this may NOT be the timeline many are interested in? :lmao: Ok, we walk to the beat of a different drummer at Disney....What time did we get to the park? Hmmmm...:confused3 :rotfl:

I see you said that the atmosphere at Kona's was kind of hectic. Does that mean loud too? Have you ever eaten there for lunch? Is it much more peaceful then? I was wondering because I've eaten at Coral Reef for both lunch and dinner, and I find lunch much quieter and more peaceful (at least when I've been). For that reason, I always book CR for lunch instead of dinner. And when you went for dinner at Kona's, what time was the ADR for?

You're welcome. :goodvibes I found the recipe for B&BP online, but I haven't been able to find the recipe for the sauce. Until you buy the book, you could use this. I would love to have the sauce(s) recipes :thumbsup2

Bread and Butter Pudding

Ragland Road Irish Pub, Downtown Disney's Pleasure Island

Yield: 4 servings.

12 slices medium-sliced white bread
3 ounces salted butter, at room temp
2 ounces raisins
1/2 pint cream
1/2 pint milk
4 egg yolks
3 ounces super-fine sugar
Sauce of choice for serving

1. Butter ovenproof dish. Remove crusts from bread; butter on both sides and cut into quarters. Arrange layers of bread in triangles (overlapping slightly) in bottom of dish, scatter raisins on top. Cover with another layer. You should have some bread pieces leftover to use in Step 4. Press down gently with spatula.

2. To make custard, heat cream and milk in pot until it almost comes to boil. Remove from heat.

3. Whisk egg yolks and sugar in large heatproof bowl set over pan of simmering water until thick and whisk leaves a trail in mixture. Remove from heat and beat in cream mixture. Pour 2/3 of the custard over layered bread. Let stand 30 minutes or until bread has soaked up custard.

4. Heat oven to 350 F. Pour remaining custard over soaked bread and arrange remaining bread slices on top. Press down gently with spatula so that custard comes halfway up bread slices. Bake 30 minutes until custard is just set and top is golden brown. Serve immediately with sauces of choice.

Recipe note: A custard or butterscotch sauce works well.

Our Dinner ADR at Kona was at 6:05 pm. Although I found it to be rather hectic, it was not loud by any means. Maybe it's just me, but I find the entire second floor of the Poly to be hectic! :upsidedow

:wave2: Hi, Dizneydaz! And thanks for the recipe! When I get the cookbook, I will go straight to the dessert section. If the sauce recipes are there, I will most definitely let you know! Or maybe I will go straight to the appz. section for the Goat's Town recipe....or maybe........ahhhh, decisions! Decisions! :rotfl: Man, I wish I was at Raglan Road right now!
