Just Returned! Any Questions About These Restaurants?

in June. I don't know what changes you have heard about but the seating seemed to be about the same as the previous summer. We went about 12:30 on a day where the MK had morning EMH. The only real comment on the seating was at that time there was not nearly enough

How was 'Ohana for breakfast? Sept. will be our first breakfast there? How was the character interaction? TIA!

We had a wonderful time at 'Ohana! It was a great way to start the day before going over to MK! :thumbsup2 The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere both relaxing and upbeat at the same time, if that makes sense. :lmao: The service excellent! The only downfall of our Breakfast was that even though we meet with Lilo and with Stitch the other characters never made it any where close to our table. :confused3 After a leisurely breakfast we waited some more then finally politely asked the CM with Mickey if we could just take a second for a quick photo explaining that we did not even need an autograph-just a quick pic! Boy, she was nasty! Started ranting about "paying customers" and even after I explained the situation again, including the fact that we were also paying customers, she still refused in a very nasty way. Yet we did not let that ruin our morning! It was disappointing yet just another reason to start planning another trip! :thumbsup2 We will definitely go back for breakfast again!

Also, how did you like RR? We ate there last Sept. for the first time and are going back this year. What did you have and how was it. TIA again!

Raglan Road is our now our favorite dining spot in Disney, hands down! :cool1: After eating there one night, we actually cancelled another ADR just to go back to Raglan Road! Everything we had with the exception of the Shepard's Pie was excellent! And the service and the atmosphere excellent as well! We had an early dinner one night (5ish) and a late dinner the other night (9ish) with the entertainment in full swing. Both experiences were so great that we can not wait to go back to RR! :thumbsup2

How was Chefs de France? We're going for the first time in Sept.

I knew I would cringe the first time someone asked us about Chefs de France because I am sure others have wonderful meals there! Yet our experience was so very disappointing from start to finish "food wise." :sad2: Yet please, remember this is just our humble opinion! The atmosphere was loud but quite enjoyable and the service was very good though a bit rushed.

-Wild Mushroom & Four Cheese Flatbread-Tasty altough ice cold
-Escargot-The flavor was ok, though a bit overpowering. The toughness of the snails was the real turn off
-Lobster Bisque-Edible

Roasted Flounder
with lobster reduction and sautéed fennel-Sounded good on the menu...
-Seared Salmon-My son adores salmon made just about anyway. After three little bites he pushed away his plate. After one bite, I knew why
-Lamb Shank -My DH loves lamb yet this dish was so tough and "gristle-ridden" that he also just simply pushed his plate away

Did you have dinner at Kona? We will be trying it for the first time, what did you have? How was it?

I will write about what we ordered a little later on yet for now let me say that we very much enjoyed our dinner at Kona! :thumbsup2

We would also like to know about Ohana's breakfast... ? was there a big selection... were the characters very interactive? TIA
Breakfast was yummy! Everything was so fresh and hot. :thumbsup2 They first bring out a refreshing & yummy tropical juice and two kinds of warm bread (one pineapple) with whipped nut butter. Then came the "skillet" with scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage-all cooked perfectly!-and Mickey waffles and warm buttermilk biscuits. Also served is a fruit plate-sweet and delish! A great way to start a day in Disney!
As for the character interaction...my son led the parade with Stitch which was very cool yet interaction with characters coming to our table was disappointing-you can read about it in post #23. Yet it was overall a great time and we will definitely return!

How was Maya Grill and Tangierine Cafe? What did you order?

TANGIERINE CAFÉ: One of our family favorites! :cool1: As the platters are HUGE, my DH, DS10 and I shared two chicken & lamb Shawarma Platters which comes with hummus, tabbouleh, couscous salad and Moroccan bread. YUM! YUM! YUMMY!! The only drawback on The Dining Plan is that you can only get the baklava for dessert although it is also quite yummy.

MAYA GRILL: We had breakfast there as we were staying at the resort and wanted a quiet relaxing breakfast one morning. The atmosphere was just that-very relaxing and quiet. The food was basic "buffet" food yet everything was so fresh and warm and the fruit station had a huge variety of fresh yummy fruit. The coffee was quite good-although we never got a refill...onto the service...The place was basically empty with our server only having two other tables besides us. He started off as the perfect server. Yet as he walked away, he turned and asked if we were on the Dining Plan. After we said yes, he smiled and walked away. That was the last time he ever came to our table although he was standing close by at the server station during most of our meal. He asked the next table that was seated after us the same thing yet they siad "No, we are not on the dining plan." Man, I kid you not-they were treated like Royalty while we never got refills on juice or coffee and our dirty dishes were never removed and still piled up when we left. :sad2:

Another question about Chefs - how was it and what did you have?

Our experience at Chefs de France was very disappointing. :sad1: You can read about it in post # 25 yet please keep in mind it is just our humble opinions!

would love to hear about breakfast with Lilo and Stitch:) we have ADR's for that on our last day in Dec:santa:

This is a great way to start a day in Disney! :thumbsup2 The food was hot and delicious-the service was excellent and the atmosphere was both relaxing yet upbeat if that makes sense! The only disappointing thing was the "at table" character interaction yet it will not stop us from going back and try again! You can read about the interaction in post # 23.

lynninpa, I hope you enjoyed your trip! What did you have at Maya Grill, Pepper Market (I'm staying at CSR Aug. 9-19) and Tusker House?

Maya Grill:
We had breakfast there as we were staying at the resort and in the mood for a relaxing way to start the day. Although it was the "usual" buffet breakfast, the food was good-hot and fresh and the fruit station was wonderful!

Pepper Market: I will post about PM after I play catch up on all these posts-I promise! :thumbsup2

Tusker House
: My son had the breakfast platter which came with eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, has browns (actually good!) a hot fresh biscuit and TWO beverages on the DP, which was cool. My DH had a juice and a cinnamon roll from the bakery section which was warm and gooey-yumm! I just ended up having a coffee yet it was the best cup of coffee I have ever had! When talking with the CM, we were told they call it "POOP COFFEE." Intriqued, we asked why and he explained that the birds in the rainforest actually eat and "poop out" the beans which are then harvested. Don't know if he was pulling our leg yet it was the best cup of coffee i ever had! :lmao: He went on to say we could check out the info online?

Would love to hear about your Ohana breakfast! :)

The character interaction was disappointing (see post # 23) yet it was a great time none-the-less! :thumbsup2

I am interested in hearing about the seating at Pecos Bill's. Were you able to choose a seat before you ordered, or did you have to order first, get your food, and then have a CM help you to find a table?

It was crazy hectic when we were there! We ordered our food, went to the fixin's bar and then found a table on our own-a small miracle in itself that day! :scared1: :lmao:

i would like to hear about Ohana Breakfast. Thanks

Please see posts 23 and 27. I do apologize for not answering you personally yet I am a bit overwhelmed trying to play catch up on these right now! :rotfl:

The CM wasn't pulling your leg, that's how it's done! In the past couple of years it's grown in popularity immensely, although from what I've heard it's insanely expensive to buy it by the pound... somewhere around $150/lb. Now the real question is how the heck did they think to look in bird poop for coffee beans??? On second thought, I don't think I want to know!

I would like to know how you liked Chefs De France and Raglan Road. I wanted RR, but DH wanted Chefs, so now we have a Chefs ADR for dinner one night. Good choice?

Although the atmosphere and the service were fine, Chefs de France was a very disappointing evening for us "food wise." :sad2: Yet keep in mind that this was just our experience and others have had great meals there! If you want to read about our dinner, check out post #25. On the other hand...
Raglan Road is our new favorite dining spot in Disney, hands down! Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent-so much, in fact, we cancelled another ADR to dine at RR a second time! :thumbsup2 Again, just our humble opinions!

I thought he was telling the truth yet after posting about it, I only then started to wonder if he was pulling my leg! :lmao: Even out of a cardboard cup with a plastic lid, it was honestly the best cup of coffee I have ever had! I asked another CM if they sell it there as I wanted to bring some home! She said they used to sell it yet no longer do. :sad1:

I had an equally disappointing meal at Chefs de France in December.

Thanks for the review! What time does the entertainment start at Ragland Road? I'm just wondering when to make our ADR's for in December. I wonder if the start time differs at different times of the year?
