Just Relaxin’ on the Wonder – Nowhere, Nothing, Nada. - Complete! and Final Thoughts

Love the sunrise shots! I always like to be able to take sunrise but I have to admit that I probably end up getting sunset more. It's just easier to access sunset and the western horizon where I live.
Congrats on the Bingo win. That's fantastic.
That's a LOT of people on Deck 3 gathering for whatever it is!
Love the mixology.

Back to Day 5…We came back from Mixology and took a nap. Now that I have been taking notes it says that we left at 6:15 so we probably napped for a bit and then got dressed in our costumes to go out for photos. According to the Navigator, Chip and Dale were going to be out at 7:15, and we went to Preludes. There was no one there and we were definitely going to be first in line. While we were waiting a Cruella came along and insisted that she and Fran take a picture together. Who were we to refuse that?

Fran has actually procured me a Cruella costume since the cruise, but we had a hard time finding one beforehand that would fit. Instead I was a Ghost host.

Pretty soon a character handler came out and began to rearrange the chairs for the M&G, and then before you knew it Chip and Dale were out. For most of this trip at the character meets, Fran went first.

As soon as we finished with Chip and Dale, we got in line for Mickey who was next. Remember the two girls I mentioned earlier? They were in line too. Most people just took a few shots and were done with it, but they went on and on and on. I could tell everyone was not enjoying their antics. But soon enough we got to meet Mickey.

The characters were all done for a while, but we decided to just pose with one of the photographers who was taking portraits. This is my effort at being a ghoulish server.

Then we headed off to dinner. I think for the rest of the cruise we just went late to dinner because we didn’t want to deal with the lines. Whether or not people were still queueing up for dinner, I’m not sure, but we didn’t want to find out, so we just took pictures while everyone else was waiting in line.

Our table tonight was much more centrally located.

Some of the artwork on the walls.

Fran went with the Potato, Cheese and Bacon soup tonight.

I was creative this time. I started off with the Tomato Tart. It was different than when we had it the other night, but still very tasty.

Then I had the same soup that Fran did.

The room was changing. Now the tips of the paintbrushes are pink.

Fran had the tuna for her entrée again, so she must have really liked it.

I asked for the truffle pursettes as my entrée and they brought me a larger serving. I had seen other folks do this on their cruises and thought it was a great idea. I also didn’t end up eating too much since the portions were a little bit smaller.

The room was still changing as the show went on.

I ordered this dessert and I believe that it came from the No sugar added part of the menu. It was still very good.

Fran got this chocolate sundae which she had ordered before. She really liked it.

Then the show started. Mickey came out and paraded around the restaurant.

After dinner, we went back to the photographers for more pictures. I should have been taking photos of people all day. There were some great costumes all day, but it was only very late that I realized I should be taking pictures. Maleficent.

As we waited for Donald, we saw Harry Potter, et all.

This is where things got funny. I greeted Donald.

And Fran gave the handler some candy. He mentioned to Donald that they had some candy and he would give him some once they were done. Donald evidently wanted it now.

He really wanted it badly.

The handler tried to tell him that he would get some later.

But he got really excited about the candy.

I had a couple pieces in my pocket and decided that it couldn’t hurt if I gave him some, maybe it would calm him down if he had his own. I couldn’t have been more wrong!

He went nuts about the candy!

I had no idea that he was going to react this way, but her took the candy and ran away in the back of the character meet area. I felt awful, like I was being as time consuming as the obnoxious girls!

The handler had to go back to him and convince him to come back to the picture shoot and give him back the candy.

Finally the handler got the candy away from Donald and got him back to the photo shoot.

After he finally calmed back down, he posed with Fran.

Next we got in line for Goofy who came out as Chip and Dale left. But first I snapped some photos of the other costumes. I really should have taken more pictures of the other guests there were some great costumes out there. I don’t know if Californians are much more likely to dress up, or the fact that we have the TV/Movie industry here, but the costumes on this cruise were so much better than last year’s cruise out of Miami.

This gal was evidently dressed as something that shouldn’t be brought up on the DIS…..

And can anyone tell me who this guy is? I don’t mean Mr. Incredible!

Chip and Dale left as Goofy arrived.

Then we went over to the other side of the Atrium to get pictures with Minnie. Some more neat costumes on our way.

And one more shot of the pumpkin carvings.

By this time it was pretty late for us. Almost 11PM so we headed back to the room to be greeted by tomorrow’s Navigator and our towel animal. Poor Lucifer was in Time Out.

I like that one, too.

They must do or else I would notice.

Corinna

We didn't see it on either of our cruises, but we could have missed it.

I still don't know about the cheese, I'm afraid to order it!

With 14 ft walls facing east at my house, I will never really get sunrise shots unless I go somewhere to get them. That's why I love to do it on cruises. I'm usually too busy at Sunset to take pictures so sunrise usually works better. Usually I say.
Well on the Wonder, Bingo seems to be a charm! :rolleyes1
It was a story telling for the children after trick or treating.
You would be on the floor. I would drink your drinks! It would be fun!

What fun! Fran is adorable in her dalmatian costume and looks like she was having a blast! :)

Love the recent updates. Your costumes are AMAZING! And I hope we'll get to see you as Cruella in the future.
The M&G pictures are fantastic. I think that would be the main reason for me to swallow a pack of Dramamine and head for a cruise. The range of characters are always the thing I look forward to seeing in everyone's cruise vacay TRs.

And Donald is a scream! I wouldn't have felt bad about taking time. Afterall, you *only* just offered Donald some candy. You aren't responsible for his "bad" behaviour and how much time he decides to spend with you. ;)
Awesome costumes from the other guests.

And yes. Happy to do a mixology with you and Fran as long as you're happy for me to take a couple of sips and then slip the rest your way!!

L O V E all of your Halloween character shots!!! And I LOVE your costumes. They are just awesome.

I have been pretty busy lately (what else is new? :rotfl2:) but I have been reading and enjoyed all the updates.

I absolutely adore Fran's Dalmatian costume!! Such a great costume! And I love the pose with bot paws up in the front. So cute!

It really looks like a fun evening. I am not good at all at costumes and I would feel out of place on a ship where so many people are dressed up in such great costumes, but I guess the people watching is great on that evening!

Don't feel bad about the Donald thing! I love seeing the characters playing antics while I am in line on the cruise ships, so it was also entertainment for those waiting. They seem to do that much more on the ships than on land. And you never requested Donald to play with you like these girls did. Your interaction was just a wonderful dose of pixie dust!

Catching back up again! Love everyone's costumes! There really were some nice ones on your cruise...but you and Fran's were the best. :)

Jill in CO

Fran is the cutest Dalmatian ever! And your costume is so cute. I loved all of your pictures.

Great pix - I'm always amazed by the detail people go into for costumes. I've never been one to dress up. (I HATED Halloween as a kid because I hated wearing a costume, it made me super self conscious.) But we have put together some costumes in the past. I think your costumes are great.

No, I don't think so. They could have just been Disney fanatics. I saw their doppelgangers on this cruise.

Ohhhh.... anime doppelgangers. Scary stuff.

Yeah, story of my life. "Darlin' what happened to those...."

I've just stopped asking. I find the empty wrappers either under the bed or in her trashcan. :sad2:

:lmao:
I hear you!

I awoke for a few minutes and put on the movie Bolt. Evidently, it wasn’t so bad (sleeping that is) as I don’t remember much past starting the movie and seeing a little bit before falling back asleep.

Higher praise could not be bestowed!

You can see the Mexican Coast off in the horizon and it is obviously still storming there, but we had clear weather.

Nice.

Moving out for a wider view.

I thought I preferred that photo, but...

This one is drop dead gorgeous.

And there it is. Any further shots would really have benefitted from my Neutral Density filter, which I still do not have.

You and me both. On both counts.

Once Monsters Inc. ended Monsters University came on the TV and we decided it was time to get out of there or we might get sucked into watching another movie.

I probably would've been the same way.
I haven't seen Monsters Uni.

We both went for Cinnamon Rolls, because Cinnamon Rolls

Sure. Makes total sense.

but she added a chocolate croissant.

Completely understandable.

Doesn’t this look yummy?

::yes::

And I have my liquid veggies in the glass in the background.

Sure. Eating healthy. Yup.

Fran got the Waffle Sandwich, Two Waffles stuffed with Dulce De Leche and rolled in Sugar Cinnamon and garnished with Watermelon Wedges!

Holy crap!! :faint:

I believe she also got a side of bacon.

And a sausage.

She looks like she's just about to crash into the wall here.

There weren’t too many people playing for this round.

Better odds for you then.

It was a Passion Crème Freeze, Orange Passion Fruit Juice, Vanilla Ice Cream and Grenadine.

Yum! I'll take one, too!

I won that game and $214!

Hey! Good for you!

All in all it cost us $60 to buy in and we won, so it was a net win there.

Not too shabby.

After Bingo we browsed the shops. I know she bought something, but I don’t remember what it was.

Oh, that's easy. Just look around for a Disney souvenir.

:rolleyes1

After we left the stores, we found the Trick or Treat stations, and picked up a few more candies on our way back to the room.

Just out of curiosity, what would you say the ratio of costumed to non-costumed guest was?

I saw this gathering of children in the Atrium and was so glad to be on the 4th floor and not the 3rd!

Eep! Nope!
What were they waiting for?

Love that pic.
"You see this? It's mine. So hands off."

We had a 2:00 Mixology class and I wanted to make sure that we didn’t do that on an empty stomach, we couldn’t get as “happy” as we did at Saturday’s class.

:rolleyes1

They have these cute little jacket napkins when you sit down.

I like that. Clever.

Fran had the……wait for it…..can you figure it out? Did you read the menu?

And not just one!
They do look good, though.

Then she went for the burger. It’s always on the menu and it’s always pretty good. Nothing awesome to write home about, but certainly good enough for lunch!

Then good enough for me.

I had the Fettucine Pasta with Homemade Meatballs in a Rich Roma Tomato Sauce with Parmesan Shavings.

Oh, man. I think I'll forgo the burger and have that.
Looks soooo good.

We started with the jalapeno margarita and there weren’t nearly as many people who didn’t like it. Fran didn’t get a bunch to finish off.

Oh, poor Fran. She must've been devastated.

He was pouring for a good couple counts before he actually started counting and eventually he counted to eight!

She got awarded a shot for having lots of children.

Ha!

I was OK with the one, since I was trying not to get drunk today.

And did you succeed?

The Class ended at 2:45 and I have no pictures so we probably headed directly back to the room.

... Apparently not.

OMG! Look at Fran! :rotfl:

Instead I was a Ghost host.

While I suppose being Cruella would've been more fitting,
I personally love your costume!

Remember the two girls I mentioned earlier? They were in line too. Most people just took a few shots and were done with it, but they went on and on and on. I could tell everyone was not enjoying their antics.

And late at night, a group of passengers was seen surrounding them.
They were never heard from again...

This is my effort at being a ghoulish server.

Good job. I like.

The room was changing. Now the tips of the paintbrushes are pink.

That's so cool.

Harry's a dad now????

And Fran gave the handler some candy. He mentioned to Donald that they had some candy and he would give him some once they were done. Donald evidently wanted it now.

He really wanted it badly.

The handler tried to tell him that he would get some later.

But he got really excited about the candy.

I had a couple pieces in my pocket and decided that it couldn’t hurt if I gave him some, maybe it would calm him down if he had his own. I couldn’t have been more wrong!

He went nuts about the candy!

:lmao: That's hillarious!
And I would'nt worry about being a character hog if it's the character that's doing the hogging.

This gal was evidently dressed as something that shouldn’t be brought up on the DIS…..

I think I'm missing something here?

And can anyone tell me who this guy is? I don’t mean Mr. Incredible!

Not a clue.
But I will say that I'm really impressed at some of the costumes the guests have.

Poor Lucifer was in Time Out.

Aw... Poor kitty.

Very nice shots of the sunset. That is great that you were able to win bingo during the event. I had a hunch that you would have done the mixology during your cruise.

You and Fran had nice costumes that night.

While we were waiting a Cruella came along and insisted that she and Fran take a picture together. Who were we to refuse that?
Awesome photo op!

Instead I was a Ghost host.
Great costume!

Remember the two girls I mentioned earlier? They were in line too.
That's so cool! I'm glad you got to see your new friends again! :faint: :sad2:

Then the show started. Mickey came out and paraded around the restaurant.
I didn't realize that was a part of the show. That really looks like a fun place to eat and watch it transform.

Maleficent.
Great costume!

we saw Harry Potter, et all
Um, Harry... this is a Disney ship.

He mentioned to Donald that they had some candy and he would give him some once they were done. Donald evidently wanted it now.
An hyper, angry duck and sugar. What could possibly go wrong?

I had no idea that he was going to react this way, but her took the candy and ran away in the back of the character meet area. I felt awful, like I was being as time consuming as the obnoxious girls!
:rotfl2: Sounds like it was a fun interaction. Nothing to worry about. It isn't your fault that Donald was acting like a 3 year old with a candy addiction!

I really should have taken more pictures of the other guests there were some great costumes out there.
::yes:: There were really some great ones there.

This gal was evidently dressed as something that shouldn’t be brought up on the DIS…..
??? Ok, got me. Now I'm curious what I'm missing.

And can anyone tell me who this guy is? I don’t mean Mr. Incredible!
Bret Michaels? Axl Rose? Insert the name of any other 80's hair band rocker here...

What fun! Fran is adorable in her dalmatian costume and looks like she was having a blast! :)

She was really enjoying all the characters and their costumes and had a genuinely good time that night.

Love the recent updates. Your costumes are AMAZING! And I hope we'll get to see you as Cruella in the future.

Thanks, and who knows? We will be at WDW during MNSSHP time, but it remains to be seen whether or not Fran will want to go or not. She doesn't tend to pay any attention to MHP at DL.

The M&G pictures are fantastic. I think that would be the main reason for me to swallow a pack of Dramamine and head for a cruise. The range of characters are always the thing I look forward to seeing in everyone's cruise vacay TRs.

The characters in costume on the Halloween party ships are great fun. Seeing them in their costumes is one of the mainreasons to go in a Halloween cruise!

And Donald is a scream! I wouldn't have felt bad about taking time. Afterall, you *only* just offered Donald some candy. You aren't responsible for his "bad" behaviour and how much time he decides to spend with you. ;)

I guess so. I was just being nice. He was the bad duck!

Awesome costumes from the other guests.

There were many more guests dressed up this year and much better costumes than last.

And yes. Happy to do a mixology with you and Fran as long as you're happy for me to take a couple of sips and then slip the rest your way!!

Cool! We like the idea!

L O V E all of your Halloween character shots!!! And I LOVE your costumes. They are just awesome.

I have been pretty busy lately (what else is new? :rotfl2:) but I have been reading and enjoyed all the updates.

Thanks! The Halloween cruises are really fun. Much more whimsical than Christmas. I feel the same way, it's only since I've been on vacation that I've been able to read people's TRs. On the buses and waiting for attractions.

I absolutely adore Fran's Dalmatian costume!! Such a great costume! And I love the pose with

She likes to do that. Her picture on my phone when she calls is that pose.

It really looks like a fun evening. I am not good at all at costumes and I would feel out of place on a ship where so many people are dressed up in such great costumes, but I guess the people watching is great on that evening!

There were plenty of people who weren't dressed up, and others just wore Halloween themed T-shirts. No reason to feel out place.

You can also see in my reaction that I was practically mortified at the outcome of giving him the candy. I hope that the people in line were laughing. I probably would have thought it was funny if it wasn't me.

Catching back up again! Love everyone's costumes! There really were some nice ones on your cruise...but you and Fran's were the best. :)

Jill in CO

Thank you. I think there were quite a few out there which were way more impressive but I appreciate the compliment.

Fran is the cutest Dalmatian ever! And your costume is so cute. I loved all of your pictures.

Thanks, I like to think so. I'm glad you liked them.

Great pix - I'm always amazed by the detail people go into for costumes. I've never been one to dress up. (I HATED Halloween as a kid because I hated wearing a costume, it made me super self conscious.) But we have put together some costumes in the past. I think your costumes are great.

I didn't have a problem with Halloween as a kid because I had no shame. As an adult my costumes must be comfortable. I can't stand being overheated, other than that I still have no shame. I just don't have the body I used to so Jasmine is definitely out!

Such a fun evening, and super awesome character interaction! You were lucky to get a little sideshow!

All the costumes are so great. I think some people must've spent a bit of cash on them, not to mention time in getting gussied up!

While we were waiting a Cruella came along and insisted that she and Fran take a picture together. Who were we to refuse that?

Absolutely! Too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Instead I was a Ghost host.

Wow, I'm impressed! Nicely detailed costume.

I had a couple pieces in my pocket and decided that it couldn’t hurt if I gave him some, maybe it would calm him down if he had his own. I couldn’t have been more wrong!

He went nuts about the candy!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I love it!

I had no idea that he was going to react this way, but her took the candy and ran away in the back of the character meet area. I felt awful, like I was being as time consuming as the obnoxious girls!

Nah, this is the character just messing around. It's great when they do this!

This gal was evidently dressed as something that shouldn’t be brought up on the DIS…..

:confused3

And can anyone tell me who this guy is? I don’t mean Mr. Incredible!

I'm pretty sure that's @pkondz .
