I got my mailer last week (I think on Wednesday) and it is good for Aug 24 - Dec 18.

I just got one. I've never had a pin code before. I'm from Texas. It was sent to DH. I have no idea how they decide who to send these things out to.

Mine is for stays between August 24 and December 18. Some dates ared excluded.

Make sure that you guys call and book your rooms now if you are going to use that PIN# discount. I booked mine a couple of days ago and the discount rooms were booking up VERY fast - in fact, I couldn't get the weekend I wanted and had to take the one prior to it.

About two weeks ago or so, people on this board started reporting that they were receiving either postcards in the mail or e-mails from Disney Destinations (which is the mailing list you end up on if you sign up for their newsletter or use the Walt Disney Travel Company to book packages), with discounts for all three Disney hotels at the Disneyland resort, but on each offer is a specific PIN# that you have to have to claim the discount. Apparently, not everyone has gotten this offer, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason that we can deduce as to why some people have gotten them and others have not. And they are still arriving with certain people. Also, in some cases, people (like myself) are getting the offers sent to their e-mail addresses or home addresses, BUT the offer is addressed to someone else - like another family member. In my case, they sent it to my e-mail, but it was addressed to my friend and for some reason, they had her name as being the person who lives at my house! Since these offers are non-transferable, there was some concern that Disney would not let people use an offer that had another person's name on it, but they did let me use mine.

Anyway, the discount rates seem to vary on certain offers, too. Mine was for $159 per night for the PPH, $179 for DLH and $259 for GCH - all really good rates (the GCH is never that low!). On others, I have heard that their offers were $149 for PPH, $159 for DLH and the same for GCH. Most of the offers require that you stay at one of these hotels between August and December 18, but one of the other posters here said theirs was only good until September.

So when I used my PIN to book the discount room the other day, I could not get the weekend I wanted and the girl on the phone told me that the discount offer is catching on like wildfire and the rooms are booking up all through the August - December period, so that is why I said, if anyone here has a PIN offer and is debating whether or not to use it, jump on it now because they are running out of rooms at those rates (of course, you could still get rooms at their regular rates, but who wants to do that?!).

Ok, so I assume that wherever you are staying in Sept./October when you go is cheaper than what the PIN# discount rates would be? Because if not, I would say switch over and use the discount. Even if you had a pre-existing reservation at one of the Disney hotels, you could probably tell them you just got your PIN# and get them to discount you anyway.

It is nice to be included in the offer. Maybe some of the people who did not get it when it first went out two weeks ago will be getting it now. I have been trying to get the darn Disney people to take my friend's name off of my database listing because she does not live here and does not check my e-mail address, but they say they cannot change it?!?! I just want to make sure that they don't keep sending things to her at my address and then not allow me to use a discount in the future because it has the wrong name on it!

$544 a night in mid-October at DLH? That sounds like a lot of money. What kind of 'theme' is the room? That may NOT be booked up yet. See, the rooms attached to the PIN# offer are certain rooms set aside for that offer, so while those are booking (or booked?) up, the other rooms at the hotel may still be open. That is the regular off-season for DLR, so the rooms are usually a little cheaper anyway, but the PIN# discount brought them even lower. The room I got with the PIN# will end up being about $110 less than what the 'off-season' rate would be per night. We won't even get into the 'peak season' rates! Those are off the charts!

No. In fact, it seemed that a lot of the AP holders were NOT receiving the PIN# offers. No one could really figure out who was getting them and why. One common theme was that many of us who received them had somehow gotten on the Disneyland/Disney Destinations mailing list through the DL website or the Walt Disney Travel Company (like when you book a package online or maybe book a Disney Cruise) and the WDTC passed the mailling list on to Central Reservations. I don't know for sure that that is the reason, but that may be one reason. It is a good idea to go on the DL website and sign up for their newsletter and for updates and info (in case you have not done this already). Create a 'My Disneyland' account and get your name in their database so you can get future offers.

Well you have to go where the cookie is! Actually, as much as people pay at the Disney hotels, there should be cookies in every room at every hotel! It is interesting you said that about not being as concerned with staying on property at DLR as you are with WDW. A friend of mine who was just at DL/DCA two days ago apparently felt the same way. She is a Disney fan, though not a huge one like we all are here on this Board. Last December, when she went to WDW, she and her family stayed at the Port Orleans for a full seven nights and got a package deal with the hotel and Park Hoppers for the length of their stay. I was thinking that must have cost a fortune (though, strangely, when I checked out the price of that online, it was not much worse than staying three nights at the GCH out here at DLR!!), but I could see she wanted to give her son the whole Disney experience, right down to the hotel. BUT, when she was just at DLR two days ago, she got two nights at one of the Good Neighbor hotels (the Del Sol) because she said she couldn't justify spending the money at the PPH - the cheapest of the three Disney hotels! I found it puzzling because she had just spent all that money at the Port Orleans for a full week in December! So, you and my friend seem to be thinking along the same lines!

I guess it has to do with the layout in WDW as opposed to here in Anaheim. Is that it? Everything is so massive and spread out over in Orlando, that to stay 'off-property' over there might mean quite the trek to and from the parks, whereas out here at DLR, everything is close together, and staying offsite is just a couple extra minutes of walking. That, and also the variety of Disney hotels in Florida is so inviting, that people have so many choices and levels of prices and what not. Out here, there are not as many choices in Disney hotels because we just don't have the darn space to expand that much!

When are you going? Glad to hear you made a reservation. It was good that you mentioned to folks to hurry up and book if they want to use the pin deal, because I'm sure it is really filling up by now. There were no dates at the lowest rates when I was calling several weeks ago.
