Here is the e-mail I just received.....

Thank you for your email with reference to Priority Seating reservations at the
WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort. Effective August 4, 2003, bookings for all Walt
Disney World® Resort dining locations that offer priority seating times will be
available 90 days in advance, with the following exceptions:

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review can be confirmed 2 years out
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show can be confirmed 2 years out
Bistro de Paris can be confirmed 30 days out
Lunch with a Disney Artist can be confirmed 30 days out
Victoria and Albert's Chef's Table can be confirmed 180 days out
Mickey's Backyard Barbecue can be confirmed based on availability

This change will result in a more easily understood process for our guests, with
a consistent policy for our dining locations that accept priority seating,
except for locations with unique situations. The new policy will be in effect
for all WDW Resort guests, including Disney Vacation Club Members. As always,
we will continue to evaluate enhancements to these policies to best serve the
needs of our guests.

I was just about to cut and paste my email!!!

Great news! I'm happy.

But I was wondering about one thing.

This line:
The new policy will be in effect
for all WDW Resort guests, including Disney Vacation Club Members

Are they excluding off site guests?? Or am I just reading too much into it?

And what about that line were you wondering? Oops looks like you edited you post, good thing i previewed this time :)

Yup. I guess off site guests will have to book at the old 60-day window (I think it was 60-day). I am guessing they are using it as incentive to stay ON SITE.

This raises the question of what context they are using "guests of the Walt Disney World Resort"? It could be two ways.

You can refer to the Walt Disney World Resort and mean all guests that use the WDW facilities, meaning parks.

You can also refer to guests of the WDW Resort as guests who are staying at a Disney Resort.

I think in the context it was used, it means my first supposition. I think if they wanted 90 days to be exclusive to Disney Resort guests, it would have been worded something along the lines of "guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort."

Do I make sense? Or did I confuse everyone?

I just think that will all the uproar over this 180/90 thing, and the ambiguity of the wording originally, that if they intended this new rule to be for onsite guests only, they would have worded it that way.

Then again, that makes too much sense and this whole situation over the past two days didn't have a lick of common sense in it.

Huh?

Is this a change from the 180/90 day PS proposal? Or is it still 180 for WDTC pkg. holders and 90 for all else?

From what I understand Disney had so many complaints about the 180/90 proposal that they decided not to go through with it. It's 90 days out for resort guests, package or not, for all restaurants other than mentioned in previous post. It seems like a much more fair policy to me.

It is my understanding it is everyone regardless of whether you are staying offsite or at a WDW resort. I think the extra information in the email about DVC owners was to make sure they understood they were included.

Its for on site guest wih a vacation already booked that they will confirm. Others have to wait till the 60 day mark if they are still available.

I have to respectfully disagree with your assetment of the email from WDW. As of today, anyone can book priority seating at most of the restaurant locations up to 90 days in advance. No one has reported being turned away today because they were staying off-site.

Will this happen in the future, I believe so but it did not happen today.
