My wife and I have just closed on our DVC Resale. In the email i received from the company i used they stated to wait 14 days before calling Disney to set it up. Anyone know the reason for this?

Your deed will need to be recorded by the county and once Disney receives notice of that they still need to enter your contract into their system and set up the appropriate number of points. This usually takes about a week after closing but can take longer.

I'd call MS a week after your closing has been completed and if they do not have a record of the contract yet, call Member Accounting (same phone number, different option after being connected).

You can check online at the Orange County Comptroller's Office to see if your deed has been recorded. I wouldn't call until the deed shows up there.

OP. the above advice is all very good. Keep calling MS after a week to see if your account is set up. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I have also had points loaded on the weekends.

This is true. I just has my resale points added yesterday, so they do add points on weekends.

We just closed on Tuesday and we are already registered with the Orange County Comptroller. Hopefully we can get our member number this week because we are planning a trip for the end of April.

We closed Monday last week and our points were loaded Saturday to give you a timeframe.
