Wow, I have not been on DISboards in a year or so! But just yesterday, all you fine folks on the gay and lesbian forum came into my mind, and I just wanted to say hi to everyone. If you remember me, I came here in 2007 as a 12 year old boy who had just found out he was gay. I posted a thread and everyone on here was just so supportive and brought me through that tough time.
For an update, my parents just kind of "forgot" about it. If they ever talk about my future they say "whatevers" instead of saying boys. (Or girls for that matter) On Christmas my dad's drunk friend came out on the deck with me and asked me "Who are ya into these days, the boys or the girls" and I just came out to her. She said she had known since she met me back when i was 10, and that my dad had talked to her about it a couple times, and that he was confused and didn't know what I was. I was honestly scared she would make a scene in front of our other party guests (only everyone in my family, and all my family's friends haha) because she was under the influence, but no. She said that it was terrible what the christian groups do, how you can't just single out one "sin" (I personally don't think it is, i've researched) and say those people are going to hell, when many get drunk, but they aren't tormented and called out as hell-bound. She said she will always be there for me. That was nice.
My dad and I have come a lot closer, we went to Bonnaroo together, and have been doing more things together. Maybe he just had a revelation that his son was gay and thats okay. Idk, but I like whatever happened!
I'm 15 now, and better than ever! I owe a lot of it to the guys and gals of this board. A few i can pull out of my mind are
Tuckandstuiesmom
Conckahuna
Rosiep
and OrlandoMike, if any of you are still here after all the years.
Others who helped me, thank you from the bottom of my heart also.
I won't be on here all the time, but I will check in to make sure you all are behaving
Love,
Reid. The child of this board
Thanks again everyone, i could never pay you back for what you did for me <3
