I was diddly-bopping on Southwest Airlines website when lo-and-behold I noticed $49 airfares each way from Philadelphia to Orlando. I plugged in some dates and saw what I liked. I jokingly asked my husband if he wanted to fly to Florida with kids in tow the last weekend in January. Without even a blink he said yes (he always says yes to Disney). I called Member Services on Tuesday (used the 407 number-got through-waited 5 min) and they had a studio available at BCV from Jan. 28th to the 31st. I almost fell off my chair because it was just too easy to plan a trip.

Now the really fun part! We haven't told the kids yet (DS8,DD5) and are really trying to remain tight-lipped. Part of our devious (but genius) plan is to ask them the morning we leave if they'd like to go to Disney. We know they'll be thrilled because they frequently ask when we're going to WDW next. Now we're praying for good weather for the day we leave.

Thanks for letting me share my good news! I'll give a trip report when we return. I just love my DVC!

We have done two surprise trips for the kids, for the latest one. We did just as you suggested. The kids (son - 8, daughter - 7) came in our rooms at about 8:00am that morning when they work up. It was a scheduled day off of school for a teacher work day. So when they came in I just kind of asked them what they would like to do today. My daughter said she wanted to finish folding the laundry with me (I had been doing laundry for the previous few days in preperation for our trip, although they didn't know that). I said that sounds good, but how about if we go to WDW instead. They said "yea" just assuming I was joking. I said "okay, lets go". They were so confused at first, but I finally convinced them we were really going.

Have a wondful surprise trip, it is something you will remember for a long time!

I'm so jealous. My husband never says yes to anything. He doesn't know it but I reserved a week in May for our first family DVC trip to VWL. Can't wait!

That is so wonderful!!

Here we just got excited about a $200 direct flight air fare from Dayton in May, you four for the price of our two is exceptional!

Have a great time, and here's some pixie dust for good traveling weather!

That is the exact way I just booked our trip in Feb. I saw the airfare and said How can't we go!"" Disney must be loving Southwest right now. I know I am!! Yay SWA!
