Just Planned a Last Minute Trip in December!

I think it great and have a great time. We will be there for the xmas holidays as well. We just love it.

@newdisfamily- I wish that we could go earlier in December like you. I am fearful of the crowds and 2 small children... Oh well, I guess we just breathe and enjoy the time together! :)
You seriously need to prepare yourself for the crowds. That is the single most busy week of the entire year at WDW and the parks, especially MK, are known to close before lunch time because they are full and at capacity. You will definitely need to get to the parks at opening and utilize Fastpass to the best of your ability.

Good luck!

@McIntoshTx- We have actually been both- we were at Camp Lejeune for the Marines and then we transferred to the Army and are now at Ft. Bragg. Lol! Yes, I know about SOG, but they are booked for the holidays... No worries, we found a condo off site. :)

Did you know you can book through Shades of Green and get a discounted room at one of the Disney resorts? You can fill out an overflow reservation request on the SOG site and Shades of Green will search for availability for you at one of the Disney resorts. That's what we did for our December trip. Have a great time!!

Hi Everyone!
I am new here! I just planned a last minute trip (DH is military) for me, DH, DD3 (almost 4) and DD1. We are driving from NC and will be there from Dec 25-Jan 2. And we are so excited!

With it being a last minute trip, and didn't have time to properly save, so we are staying off property in a 2 bedroom condo, and getting a 4-day pass to Disney. \.

Are you using the 4-day pass for Military members?? If so, there are blackout dates from 12/27-12/31.. or are you avoiding the blackout dates?

Just don't want you finding out when you're already there!

No, we are not using the military discount. We planned this trip before they put out the new discount. We are also FL residents and the military tickets are basically the same price (except the military tickets have the park hopper option, which we don't "need").

As far as booking Disney through SOG, I knew about that option, but we opted not to. We are traveling with DD3 and DD1, and it will be easier if we have 2 bedrooms (not really an option at disney without forking out $$$).
