Who does it in your house, one person, both?

Do you shop for someone else too?

Do you go to one store for everything, or do you go to several stores? Why?

How often do you shop? Once a month, week, day?

Do you go by a list, or do you just wing it?

I generally do the grocery shopping. If DH wants to save money he goes with me to shoppers with the kids. If not I go somewhere that bags, because I have the kids.

I go to one gorcery store, twice a week (unless we run out of something that we really need.)

I keep a running list on my computer than go every other Friday or Sat!

I do the majority of the shopping. I do send DH out time to time to pick up something.

I tend to shop every week. I do not do it all at one store. I shop by sale papers and get the rest at Sam's.

I have to have a list or else I forget what I went for.

We go shopping every 2 weeks as DH gets paid bi-weekly. We normally make a list of what is on sale at the one store we shop at. It gives airmiles and is open 24 hours which is good for us as hubby is a firefighter (part-time and works full time as well as a mechanic) so we sometimes have to shop at off hours. We go together as I can't lift the pop cases, water cases, dog food, cat litter etc, plus he pushes the cart while I go and get everything. My DS goes with us most of the time as well.

Who? Used to be both or either/or. Currently, I help with any lists, and spouse does the legwork.

How many stores? I wish just one, but no can do. Why? Stock, price or quality issues.

Just shopping for us (and the pets ).

Prefer to use a list, but have winged it at times. Will make an "impulse" buy if there's a good price on something, or if certain fresh produce is especially appealing.

I usually do the grocery shopping by myself. DH occasionally goes and then we usually spend more $$ because he's always adding "extras" to the cart.

I usually go a couple times a month. Since it's just the two of us I don't need to shop weekly like I did when the kids were home.

Usually just go to Wal-Mart and one grocery store.
Always have a list.

I generally go when we run out of food...could be a week, could be once every three weeks...depends how often we eat home ( we usually eat out numerous times during the week). I never use a list, just pick up things as I go....

I used to wing it, but lately I've been reading the weekly circulars posted on the grocers' websites and making a list of items on sale. I do most of the regular shopping, occasionally send DH for must-haves after he's finished work. Last week I wrote a list and sent him shopping at 2am (he works 2nd shift) because he'd been starting earlier and I hadn't been able to stop and shop.

Two area stores are offering One-Check Rebates, so I've been going to both stores to buy the items offering the cash back - but only if they're things I would by anyway. The rebate checks go in to my "savings" account.

I try to go once a week, sometimes I go multiple times for smaller quick pickups, other times I might skip a week depending on the cash flow.

We shop together. We try to go when the kids are in school (DH works nights) and squeeze lunch in too. We sometimes use a list, depending on if we go to Shoprite (no list) or the Commissary on base (long list). We use coupons if Dh cuts them out. He is in charge of reading the sale ads. We shop every week, and we shop for my FIL as well.

I don't shop for "someone" else, but "someplace" else in addition to here - the lake..

Basically one store - but now and then to another for certain items that the first store doesn't carry..

I go by a list - either actually on paper, or the one in my head that tells me what we need..

Why? Homeless shelters look like scary places to eat...

I do all the shopping at least once a week. Always at the same Publix right down the road from me. And I always make out a list of everything we need so I won't forget anything.

I do all the grocery shopping. I usually try to make a list, but lately I haven't been. I go about once a week, usually on Monday. I have two major grocery stores near my house and I go to both (though not on the same trip), depending on what I need.

How often? Sometimes daily. I ran in to Jewel yesterday, dh ran over there today. I had also just been there 2 days before. Needing fresh fruit and veggies causes most of our trips. So, dh & I both do it. I also shop thru Peapod and have that delivered about every 2-3 weeks, depending on what we need that we haven't picked up. I also get several items from Market Day each month. We use a list for the quick-trips, but I do the Peapod shopping so, I go by past orders and sales/specials.

maybe once a week, sometimes once every two weeks. It depends because we make a list of things we're going to make for the next random amount of days, so when the food runs out we go back.

We usually go to Giant because they have a good 'shoppers club' but sometimes we'll get things other places because they are cheaper, or because giant doesn't have them.

We have a list for specific things we'll cook for dinner during the week, and when we know things are out like toothpaste/toilet paper/ paper plates, etc. But we'll also pick up something if we see it and it looks interesting.

How often: not often enough according to the people who live in this house maybe once or twice a month ( or when the cats are out of food,,,, you can tell kids to go away, cats don't listen!!!)

Who goes: just me

I only shop at one store, why: because I have to read all labels because of food allergies, if I have to go to unfamiliar stores it takes twice as long to find things and then read the labels too.

I use a list sometimes but not all of the time.

Several stores because none of them seem to offer everything I want in one place. Get fish from the fish market, meat from the butcher, produce at the farm stand and the rest from the grocery store (milk comes from the milkman)
