Just ordered DDE card

Just thought I'd let you all know that if anyone is planning on ordering today, I only waited maybe 2 minutes on hold, if that. And it was a really quick process. They're still saying about 4-6 weeks for delivery. I'm at 8 weeks but ordered it anyway, since I was already there on the phone. It will be good until 3/06. One thing I found odd was, they wouldn't give me a 2nd card for my father (no big deal, he won't be going off of his own) but they said they could only give it to spouses. Just thought I'd pass that info along.

When you say that it expires 03/06 do you mean 03/31/06?? I was going to wait to order mine until March 1 so that it would expire on the 31st of 06 and I would get to use it in March, December and then again next March (woohoo). We are leaving March 10 so that would mean I would have to use the letter. Either way I would probably have to use the letter but I would like to order now to get it out of the way if I could.

Good question-she just stated 3/06, so I assumed she meant 3/31/06.
I am pretty sure from reading other people's threads on the same topic that it is good for the entire month.

I may need to post a separate thread for this but I'll try here 1st.

Can anyone purchase the DDE or do you have to have an AP? We have a Sept. trip planned but we're not planning on getting APs for this trip because next year we won't go back until Oct or Dec. I thought I read somewhere (but can't find it now) that DDE could be bought for a little bit more if you were not an AP holder. Can anyone verify this??

No, it is only for AP holders or for Florida residents.

I just called and was on hold about 15 minutes - not bad considering what it was when they first announced that pass holders could get it. Thanks for the info about the March expiry - it was March 31, 2006. I got this out of the way - and maybe it will arrive early - who knows!! Anyway they are very sticky about being passholders - taking the number off the voucher and they wouldn't ship it to my son-in-law in the US because that is not the address with the passholder. Actually I hope there is no problem because I had them ship the annual pass vouchers to him even though my billing address is in Canada. I think she might not have wanted to take 2 addresses - one for the holder and one for shipping whereas the other CM didn't mind doing that for the annual passes (whew that was a mouthful!).

and still, as of today, 2/17/05 haven't received it (DDE).

I was told there is about a 2 month backlog, so better get the email confirm, cause your card won't be coming any time soon.

How long does it take for the email to come? I thought it would be instant but I ordered my card over an hour 1/2 ago (and they said I would get the email). Not to anxious eh? I've been checking my email every 10 minutes!

When I ordered mine (late January), it took a day or two for the email to arrive.

It's Ok - they just called me and had the email address wrong. They sent me the email already. Then I called and changed a couple of priority seatings and tried to have the DDE discount applied to my Fantasmic Diner Package and they said there are no discounts with this even though it is at participating restaurants. Does anyone know anything about this?

There are no discounts on the Fantasmic dinners. Yes the restraurants are on your list, but if you make it a dinner package there are no discounts. CMs do not get their discounts on the Fantasmic packages either. Also none on the CP dinner packages in December. You can do the dinner without the fantasmic feature and get the discount.

When I bought at the end of January, they said it could be any adult in the same household (address). I gave them my mom's name and the e-mail had both our names. Not that it really matters, she would not be on her own either.

Policy changed at least 4 times in January. DDE seems to have consistent footing on policy now.

I ordered mine on January 24. If those that ordered the first week of January still haven't gotten their card I will never get mine!!! Our trip isn't until June 4th, so I guess there is still hope that it will be here before then! Boy, am I glad I ordered early!!!
