Just one more Question

So, to the wise people of the Disboards...

We have 6 day hopper passes, our days in the parks are Sun-Fri. The original plan was to make use of our MM passes on Sunday, being the first day of the trip. Everyone will be excited and up early and raring to go.
Two problems have come up...
1. the Residence Inn breakfast does not open up until 7am (when asked they did say they will have cereal out by 6:30am, but no earlier)

2. This is a first trip (or first in a LONG time) for most of the family...is it realistic to try to rush them all through Mainstreet w/o stopping?

3.Our whole family is supposed to take a large group photo for Christmas cards this same moring, as it is the one moring we know we will all start out together. (This is HIGHLY important to my Mom, who paid for all 24 people to go on this trip)

So...will the gates be open even earlier than 7am for us to go get soem Photopass people snapping pics for us?

Is it worth going if any of that time is used up in picture taking?

How reasonable is it to think we can make it over to FL or TL w/o stopping?

OR, conversely, how much harder is it to get up on Tuesday morn, after we have been a couple days?

Thanks!! I have come to be the one 'in the know' due to the help from this board...I want to have valid arguments as to why we might want to wait until Tuesday (and yes, I know the conventional wisdom says use it the first opportunity you can)

I assume MM for Sunday is 7am (Gen. Admission being 8am). For the date that you're going, what would be the Gen. Adm. opening for Tuesday?

Conventional wisdom would be to use MM the first day available, (rule of thumb being it's easier to get up the first day) but given that your first day is:

- a 7am MM.
- the family's first day at DL EVER (& that first hour would likely want to take pics, ohh & ahh, dawdle, go hug pooh bear etc.)


...then i might be inclined to do MM on Tuesday (especially if Gen. Adm. on Tues is 9am or 10am). It's my opinion that it is best to do MM with your ears pinned back.....at the gate 30 min. before MM opening & prepared to do 6-8 rides....& not spend any time dawdling.

(& even if the family wants to dawdle on Sunday morning, (& you do MM on Tuesday).....have one person begin the FP pickup at 8am.

I agree with PP. MM on 1st day means rushing everyone not to waste precious time on rides. And if you do MM later (Tuesday), at least you can have family members decide which fave ride they want to do, so you can motivate them that way. That's what we did on our trip where we used MM on our last day and made a list of favorite rides, we set an alarm but we were raring to go!

I too am totally agreeing with PP's! Let everyone ooh and aww over Main Street and all of the beautiful decorations on Sunday. And please get those group pictures for Mom! (24 people - wow!) Have a great time!
