Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I love to sleep in on the weekends.    If I could, I would sleep in on the weekdays too! ;)

I was looking forward to doing just that on Saturday. Those plans have changed. First I find out that my DS has baseball practice at 11am. I figured that's not so bad, I could sleep until 9 or 10.

Today I come home and the contractor that I have working on my bathroom tells me that he is planning on coming over Saturday morning to keep the schedule for his work!

Now there is no way I can sleep in on Saturday or even take a nap later in the afternoon because I made plans to go to a friend's house and work on our scrapbooks all day!

Darn, darn, darn!:confused3

I feel for you! I'm not the best sleeper, and every morning I tell myself I'll just take a nap later, but it never happens. I very rarely ever take a nap, even though I'm tired a lot of the time. Where has all my energy gone???

My daughter has a soccer game at 9:00am Saturday. It is a tournament and we have to be there at 8:15 and it is a 20 minute drive. No sleeping in for me either. :(

Saturdays are my only day to sleep in. I get up at 5:00 a.m. during the week. The only problem is when I do sleep in, say to 9:00, I get one of those pounding headaches. So now on Saturdays I try to get up around 8:00.

Even when I can sleep in my internal alarm clock wakes up. So everyday at 5:30am I am up.

I told my DH back in December was one day that I could just sleep until I woke up. No alarm clocks -- no having to be somewhere at a certain time -- no huge list that must be accomplished by dinner nagging at me

I'm still waiting for it.

Yup, its that internal clock that has me up shortly after 6am. Usually in at 9pm, up at 6am.
Sometimes (like last night) Im up till after 10 but the latest I sleep the next morn (even when I have the chance) isnt much past 630.

I had 3 days off this week and I was up at 6.
If I sleep till 7 thats late for me!

Anytime I try to plan to get some extra sleep, something always happens and I get less sleep than I normally do.

Sorry you can't sleep late. We had a similar problem a month ago. On Friday I found a message on the answering machine - it said we will be at your house tomorrow morning at 7:30 to put on your new roof. I couldn't believe it and started calling the roofing company. The answering machine picked up and said they were closed for the day! I left messages, but could never reach them.

So on Saturday morning they started tearing off my roof at 7:30! We asked them to leave and come back on Monday, but the workers didn't speak English very well and said they were told to start on Saturday.

I was really mad! It's no fun to have someone working on your house early on Saturday! Maybe you can get a nap on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

I get up at 4:30 M-F to get downtown early (Chicago) - and make it home early (usually around 5:30 p.m), so when I sleep in to 7:30 on Saturday I feel refreshed and yet it's still early enough to get the grocery shopping, etc... done before soccer, baseball practice, game. However, I do look forward to the day when 10:00 wake-up is the norm.

I haven't slept past 7:00 AM since I had my daughter almost 2 years ago. I keep hoping as she gets older she will sleep later. Please tell me this is true.

What is this thing you call "sleep"? hee hee :p

As one hockey mom to another.............I would think you would be used to no sleeping in on weekends. At least it is that way here! Generally, we have to be to the rink between 6 a.m.-8 a.m. on weekends for practices/games!! Sometimes we are so lucky to have to be there by 5 a.m. for those nice 6:15 a.m. ice times!! Gotta love it!!!!

I get up at 7 am 7 days a week. I'm finally so used to it that I never need an alarm clock. When DD was little I made the "mistake" of asking DH to get up with her one weekend when we were visiting his Mother and DD woke up rather early (maybe 6 am). He indicated to me that since I opted to be the SAHM and he has to get up for work 5 days a week, that it was my job to get up with the kids NO MATTER WHAT (even if I am sick or if I was up with a sick baby all night or whatever!). That was in about 1996..... I haven't once asked him to get up with the kids since then.

Last Mother's day he got up with the kids because they bugged him to help them make me breakfast in bed..... did he get up and tell them to wait a little bit and let me sleep before my breakfast??? NOOOOO! I got my Mother's Day breakfast in bed at 6:20 AM!!!!!!!!!!!

When we take our family vacation in the summer my DH has never once that I can recall in 9 years of having kids, offered to get up even ONE DAY with the kids and let me sleep. He frequently reminds me that since he is the bread winner, it is really HIS vacation. So I am still the one who cooks, cleans, gets up early, even on vacation at the lake. But I LOVE our WDW vacations!! Eating in restaurants, and EVERYONE has to get up early to get to the parks!!

I figure I will be able to sleep past 7 am some time in about 2012 when both of my kids are teens and THEY want to sleep in!

Sorry to sound like I'm crabbing about my DH... he is really a great, responsible, fun guy.... just has a few issues about "male dominance" and who "rules the roost!"....................P:crazy:

Hockey season is over for us (except for spring hockey which is in the evenings). That is why I was looking forward to sleeping in. During the season sleeping in is definitely out of the question! We're usually on the road for the weekends!

As it turned out, the contractor is not coming this morning but I still woke up at 5:30.

I guess I'm glad that I didn't sleep in because I'm cleaning house and getting things done that I would have put off!!::yes::
