Just One Day at the Parks

I have done one day visits the day before going on cruises out of Port Canaveral. I have also done one day visits from cruise ships that have Port Canaveral as a port of call. I just spend my one day visits in the MK. I love it as it gives me a Disney experience when I am doing other vacations versus missing out on Disney.

Currently planning a 1 day trip to MK. We only have time to go to the park for 1 day before our cruise, so we take what we can get. Going to make full use of FP and staying open to close.

DH and I have flown in for 2 nights/1 park day for date night a few times. It's a blast! My mom and I have also done 2 nights/1 park day for special events like the 24 hour party at MK, or Keys to the Kingdom tour. I don't mind only 1 park day a few times a year because we visit often. I can't imagine doing 1 park day for a first visit though.

I understand this - you go several times per year so a 1 day trip to the parks makes sense especially if you have an AP or even before a cruise. I would just be frustrated to go all that way and spend only one day at the parks and then off to Legoland the next day.

I did it once. My best friend who now lives in Switzerland was visiting family in Florida so I flew down to see her. There was no way I was going to let her kids go to WDW without their "auntie".We all did one day at MK. It was hard to only do one day but I was more excited to spend quality time with her:)

Actually.. We've never been there before. And originally, we weren't gonna go. My boyfriend is treating me (well, us) to a Disney cruise. I asked if he'd be willing to go to the park even for one day. He is, but he admitted that it's mainly for me. He's not a big Disney person. I told him I'd never been and he's ok with going for 1 day. If I could stretch the trip longer, I would.

My very first visit to Disney was a one day stop at Epcot before heading to the beach. My first visit to Disney with kids was one day in the MK when our boys were 4 and 6 (also did Universal, Sea World and the beach). There were years on either side of those trips that we didn't visit Florida or Disney at all.

Plenty of people do Florida vacations with just a brief stop at Disney.

Has anyone vacationed at WDW and spent only one single day at the parks (other than for business travel perhaps)? I ask this because a good friend of mine and his nuclear family spent 2 nights at Pop and only one day at MK, no other parks. They are doing other things in Florida, including spending time with family. It almost seems like a waste/tease to spend only one day there.

I realize the group here may be different from the average family in their love for Disney and all of the planning that is involved. Could you do it? Would you do it?

I wouldn't consider that vacationing at WDW, I'd consider what they are doing vacationing in the Orlando area or Florida in general.
When I "vacation" at WDW I spend my whole vacation in the bubble. When I vacation in Orlando I don't usually go to WDW at all, but if I had the time in my schedule I could definitely do one day there. I'm dying to see Pandora at night so I'd probably pick AK and go late in the day.

I'm taking a trip to WDW at the end of May with just me and my daughter, for 4 nights- and probably going to a park for only 1 day. We go to Disney 2 times a year, and financially it's crazy expensive for me to do 2 park days. We will probably do the pool/resort activities one day, a park, and Disney Springs another. I may change my mind, but for now this is what I'm planning.
