We were concierge, no children, so no info on the kids clubs or activities.

Warning about Tiana's Place: loud does not begin to describe the noise level at all 3 dinners we experienced. It is bad when your server is shouting to be heard over the live music and you still cannot hear what is being said! This experience needs a fine tuning, something equal to small breaks where dining service can be performed. It is new and fresh, just incredibly loud, which diminishes the experience.

Also, many carpeted areas were already coming apart at the seams. Very noticeable on the stairways.

Was the noise level because there were a lot of horns in the band? That's at least what I read in a recent review. Did any of the horns use a muff? If not, maybe that's something they could do to get the noise level down some.

We have a cruise scheduled in 2018 on the wonder and this concerns me. Our son is autistic and noise is a major trigger, he wears basically shooting muffs to drown out sound but we may have to skip this one if its that bad.

Tiana's was too much for our two kids too, just felt very chaotic and stressful for us all. Our table was also right on the main walkway so we spent most of the dinner moving chairs in and trying to accommodate everyone walking by. DS (2.5) was just a mess every time we ate there and he's not a really sensitive kid that way but it was just overwhelming.

Weather was great, very smooth seas.

Live music was sometimes 3, sometimes 4 musicians.

Our table was on the center aisle, close to the stage.

We witnessed numerous little kids flipping chairs back and landing hard on the floor.

I was on the same cruise and agree that the room was noisy. Also the issue of little kids flipping the seats was very bad, our 6 year old daughter flipped one on the first night of the cruise and we saw many more thereafter. Thankfully she landed on carpet but we saw one little girl flip backwards on the wood floor HARD. They have got to do something about the chair design as they are way too top heavy for little kids.

Wow - that's too bad about the noise, and unbelievable about kids flipping in the chairs backwards apparently due to the chair design! I'd think that would be corrected very quickly. Hopefully those guests with kids who flipped out let guest services know about the issue or at a minimum the head server in the restaurant.

I loved it and didn't find it too loud but may have been our placement over to the side. Friends got a table front and center and felt it was a little loud. Loved the upbeat vibe.

Sounds like a fun restaurant! I love the idea of the music during dinner. I guess parents will have to do their jobs and teach their children how to sit properly at dinner. As far as the kids "flipping" in the chairs, some people are looking for reasons to criticize DCL!

Thanks for the warning about this! My son can't watch a parade or fireworks at WDW without ear muffs to lower the sound. I never would have thought of packing his muffs for a cruise.

Sounds like a design flaw in the chairs. I have never heard of kids flipping out of their chairs in all the years I have been on DCL so it really sounds like something with the chairs themselves in this MDR and not so much how the kids are sitting.

Is music played every night you eat there or just the nights they are serving the standard rotational menu?

The first night was a full band/music, the second night was pirate night and there was no band or anything but I found the room itself just very noisy, our server was hard to hear and conversations were more difficult than at Triton's or AP. We skipped the third night and went to Palo instead :)

Perhaps you should wait to pass judgement until you experience it for yourself. The experience is far too loud for the space and needs fine tuning. Perhaps service breaks incorporated into the show like is done at Hoop-Dee-Doo. Our server was no more than 3 feet away from us, shouting, and we could not hear him. Entirely too loud for enjoyment.

I wouldn't be happy with loud music like that as an adult, to me in a restaurant the music should be background not drowning out conversation.
I hope Disney re-thinks the sound level.

I kinda like the idea of loud music in the MDR. I like watching a show while dining. I'm sure if there is enough complaints they will put the volume down a bit.
