After an extremely wet start - pouring rain in Miami which yielded my first indoor Sail Away - the TWO rainbows we saw while actually sailing away (it cleared enough to go up on deck) were good signs as it was GLORIOUS every single day!!
I'll add to my trip report with pictures once I'm actually home, but some highlights...
* Clayton was the cruise director, and he was awesome! It was my first time with him as CD, and I told my dad "If I can't have Christiaan (since he is head of DCL entertainment) as my Cruise Director, I'll happily take Clayton."
* Yes, I am a sap and started crying when we boarded. So much that Darrel (Cruise Staff) was all "Aww! Come here!! It's ok!!" And gave me a big hug. I assured him it was happy tears.
* Deck 2 is great! I personally would have liked to be further forward, but 2582 and 2584 were fine. I did learn that I am a Port-side girl. I kept turning as if I was Port. Lol.
* LOVE Animator's Palate on the Classics!! Our rotation put us there the first night, and it was a fantastic way to start off the cruise!! I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't been on the Classics, but IMHO it blows the Crush show on the Dream Class out of the water. I'm seriously pondering putting a request to start my next cruise in AP. Super magical.
* As always, a wonderful crew. Supraptha was my cabin host and my serving team was Aditya and Tiago who were AWESOME! We had a sub server last night as Aditya was not feeling well, and that made things a little slow because Nielsen, the sub server, and Tiago aren't used to working together so the rhythm was off. But it worked out - you can't help when you get sick. They took great care of me being gluten-free! Even got me pancakes this morning!
* After all the stress over the forecast, we could not have asked for better weather on Castaway day! Beautiful sun, and I was even able to get in the water up to about my knees - it was chilly but I got used to it quickly. I could have gone swimming, but I mainly wanted to get some salt water on my leg where I got road rash from a Segway crash in Miami Beach. It helped a lot. We don't HAVE to have a cabana every time, but with my dad getting hip replacement surgery soon, it was nice to have a home base.
* Loved the production shows!! Disney Dreams is a very close second to Believe in my heart! My only quibble is I wish they would make an announcement to please use the far outside aisles if you need to leave during the show when the more central ones are going to be used by the cast in the show. It was not only distracting to have people up and down in general, but cruise staff was having to run up and down to move people, especially last night, because the cast needed the aisles. You couldn't really blame the people though as no one told them.
I can try to answer questions - just know we were an all-adult party.
Oh! And the big question... I booked for the 7-night Wonder Eastern next year Presidents' Week! Deck 2, port side, forward!
