We are finally home from a fantastic cruise on the beautiful Fantasy over the July 4th weekend. This was our second voyage on this ship. Just as great as the first time...a few differences from our trip in 2014..but still fantastic!

We brunched at Palo and had dinner at Remy which was an amazing experience!

We were excited to have Magic Dave back on this cruise as we saw him on our first and loved his act. Unfortunately we were a little dissapointed that his act was EXACTLY the same. Same scripting, same tricks, same jokes, etc. We wish it would have been a little different, but what can you do.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask away! I am missing vacation. :worried::worried:

That's our complaint, also. All those individual acts, are pretty much the same from cruise to cruise. Wish they would freshen up the acts periodically.

We've started skipping some of them that we've seen multiple times already.

We are on this itinerary next week!

What did you do in each port? Hopefully the weather cooperated for you!

Not that I like seeing the same variety act over and over, but I understand why they do it. I think the stats for DCL overall are that 38% of the passengers are repeat passengers, which mean that on average 62% of everyone on each cruise is on their first DCL cruise. That, combined with the different ships and itineraries, means that only a small percentage of people on any given cruise will have seen any particular variety act before. And, if a particular act is a proven crowd-pleaser, they're going to be invited back, new material or not.

Weather was perfect! In Tortola we just walked around a little and we were back on the ship by 12:30 and enjoyed the half empty ship!
In St Thomas/St. John we did not do an excursion with Disney, but we ferried over to St. John and went to the beach at Cinnamon Bay. Total paradise.

Did you have fireworks on the 4th of July or on Pirate night?
Fireworks were on Pirate night, however they had a 4th of July celebration in the afternoon ar sea, the ship, was decorated in patriotic bunting, the characters were dressed in partriotic costumes and they had a special "additonal" all American dinner in the MDRs that evening.

We'll be sailing the same itinerary in late September. Was pirate night on the 4th or 5th night? (Tortola or St. Thomas?)
