Just off the Dream: Deck Chair HOGS

OK, jumping in here...

I understand that people should not be putting things in chairs and leaving for hours without using them.

However, none of the strict enforcers on here have answered the question, what are you to do with your stuff? If I go on a cruise by myself, and want to ride the aquaduck while i'm at the pool...where do I put my things? Am I just supposed to throw them on the floor, or carry them over my head hoping they do not get wet on the ride? And what about while people are IN the pool...where are they supposed to keep their things? Obviously, not in the water? Disney does not provide an alternative for these people, so I think the only alternative currently is to leave them on your chair.

So to all you who say if your bum is not in the chair, you cannot occupy it at all...please answer the question what do you do with your things, as Disney does not provide anywhere to keep them? :confused3

I do find this all very entertaining popcorn:: but I agree the question has not been answered.......What am I supposed to do with my STUFF. :confused3

Our cover ups, sun block, flip flops, t-shirts, and hats. I love the rent a mother-in-law idea so if anybodies Nana is on the March 27 Dream cruise then let her know that she has temporarily adopted a new son (daughter-in-law included ) and three more grandchildren :dance3: Tell her she can catch up on missed birthday cards, graduation gifts and etc while we are on the cruise. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

We have never been on a cruise so my experience is with hotel pools, we go to the pool place our stuff on a chair (singular) and enjoy the facilities, when done we gather our things and leave, if we come back later then we repeat as stated above. We don't actually use the chair for sitting purposes but we do use the chair. To me the Aqua Duck is a great example of What am I supposed to do with my STUFF? And NO walking through the ship already pool ready (no cover up, boys bare chested, barefooted) is not within my comfort level :scared1:

I would just like to be able to put my things down enjoy the facilities and when I am done remove my things freeing up the space for someone else to use as they see fit. And not have my stuff removed from the one chair I am using while enjoying the facilities, cause although my butt is not in it I have still claimed this chair for my usage during this particular time. Now if you have solutions I am all ears or if your offering up your Nana then I am happy to be a part of your family.:woohoo::yay::cheer2:

A large beach bag (or two for larger families) could hold all personal belongings and be tucked in a corner along the wall, near the tables and chairs.

Or you could even ask someone who already has a chair, if you could just set your bag next to, or under their chair. If I had a chair, I'd gladly do that for someone.

this is what i am trying to make people understand, that if you are not sitting in that chair please don't use it for storage some one may want to sit in it thank you.

I thought people said the ground is wet, and is this something people do tuck stuff in corners, near tables and chairs or will there be a new thread about me putting my stuff in corners and under chairs.

I may actually do something strange and ask a CM what to do with my things and see their reply. Happy Cruising:)

Sorry, buster, but I don't believe that even YOU have your bum in YOUR chair ALL DAY. If you aren't getting up to at least use the facilities, remind me not to sit in your area :rolleyes1

I guess your view is that if you get up to stretch, walk to the pool to talk to your kids, go pee or leave the chair for ANY REASON, you must take ALL your belongings with you each and every time :sad2: Very odd philosopy :confused3

Next time I'm onboard, I'm going to be sure to ask several CMs if their definition of "saving" means you cannot leave your items on a chair while you use the pool. I betcha they'll say that's not what the rule means

when i get up from the seat it is for the next person to have, and it is not a storage for my stuff. i like to share and not be selfish, this way we all would enjoy a chair by the pool not just you.
