Just off fantasy concigere room 12014. Experiencing withdraw...

We did the mv for Fantasy in Concierge..my kissed missed Julia, Paul and Kemeshia for days. My son..3..still asks to go to ring the bell with Julia!

they were the best. SO WORTH THE MONEY!

My kids rung that bell every morning. And my daughter still asks to go to the kids club.... At least I have the memories and photos!!!!

I'm one who would rather wait longer and only do the Fantasy or the Dream in concierge. The Magic and the Wonder are fine without it.

I don't like the crowds, and concierge gave me a place to get away from the masses. Loved the lounge! I did use the services, and the happy hour to have a nightly glass of champagne, which was a real treat to me!

Also, when boarding, we checked in quickly, sat in a mostly empty area away from the tons of people. Boarded quickly and went to the concierge lounge. Decided to have our lunch there. I think my checked bag was there when we went to the room.

But it is a YMMV type of thing. For me it was worth it. I still have some balance/mobility problems from brain surgery two years ago, and being away from masses of people helped. I'm not saying I'll never sail the new ships non-concierge, but I'd rather save up and sail less so I can.

Now I did notice a difference in crowds from the Dream in February to the April sailing I did on the Fantasy. Definitely not a full ship. I really felt overwhelmed with too many people on the Dream. It was a three day, and people, especially kids would run right into people with no regard. I almost got knocked over several times.

So having a more quiet area with less people, snacks, beverages, made things worth it - for ME. Others may not agree and that is fine and is part of what makes the world go around. People like different things, have different things that matter to them, etc.

i hope the dream isn't like that when we're on it...
none of us can deal with crowds (medical issues)...
we are most definitely doing concierge!! :thumbsup2

Thank You, we are cruising in December with concierge.

Is PJ from Palos on the Magic? I hope so.

Can' t wait to read your full report and glad you had a amazing time! We are cruisng conceirge in Dec and can't wait to experience it on the Fantasy for the first time!

By far worth it with little children. On the Magic in Med. we had a 2 bedroom suite and with 3 very small children it was by worth every penny. We had plenty of space to eat our meals in the room and also to enjoy our large balconies when little ones just were having a bad day and needed to be in the room. When the kids needed an early bedtime after a long day being off the boat - DH and I were able to order in a very nice meal, have it delivered and set up, white table cloth and all, for us to enjoy while the children slept. The concierge team was there to help set up last minute babysitting when it was already "full" to the rest of the boat. I hesitate even sharing this story but I will - upon boarding the team asked us if there was anything at all we needed in our room and my husband (who does not drink coffee but loves a RedBull every day) asked if they could put RedBull in our fridge for him. Before we left port there was his RedBull being delivered in the fridge - and restocked throughout the cruise. Only later did we find out that the concierge did not know it was not on the ship so they sent someone OFF the boat before we left port to purchase some for my husband. That is going far and above anything we could have imagined.
The little extras - the meals in room, the treats or surprises for the kids, the help with extra babysitting, the extra space in our rooms, is worth every penny to us. We only cruise concierge - but if we DID NOT have small children and needed all the little perks I do not know if it would be worth it. But now with cruising 4 children ages 7 and under it is worth the price for us to have the extra space and the extra staff to fix things. Hope that helps :flower3:

LOVE PJ. I'm so sorry that he isn't in Palo any more. Yes, he has a new position as concierge manager on the Fantasy.

The food on the 5/5/12 Fantasy cruise was better than the December Magic cruise, but definitely a step down from 5 or so years ago.

As so funny--we had a table to ourselves but the parents (and kids) at one nearby table were HORRIBLE. Seriously, the 1 1/2 year old screeched for 5+ minutes while the mother enjoyed her alcohol when she would ultimately put something in his mouth...they let 2 older kids (maybe 3 and 5) get down from the table and roam the dining room! She was dripping in jewelry and very well dressed...wonder why they didn't opt to bring the nanny on board since mom obviously didn't have a clue how to handle the kids. Sorry....

This is PJ!

It's so nice to see a photo of PJ, I hope he's doing well. He is hands down the best DCL CM I have ever met since I started cruising in 2002.

He is incredible! Adored him!

Actually, I must say the whole concierge team of Kemisha, Julia and PJ are top-notch. I could rave on and on about how great they are.

I've done concierge on the Dream but I wouldn't rave about all three like I do with this team on the Fantasy.

those 3 make conciegre worth it right there. and Andy now works in there too. i think he's in training or something. he was great too. they love their job, even if they had a diffcult snobby passenger (and there were some trust me..bratty kids too). i'd lose my job b/c i'm just too honest haha!!

thank you for the review.

i booked room 12020 in january for my daughter, my mom and i as we set sail to the eastern caribbean.

i wanted something special for my mom and we will be celebrating my daughters 3rd birthday while on the cruise.

getting excited. even though the room is $$$, i think i made the right decision for my family.

also, who do i tell that it will be my daughter's birthday? i booked the cruise through costco (getting a huge costo cash card in return).

thanks for the help!

This is PJ!

yes that's him - though he's 10 years older...
he was on our first cruise on the wonder in 2002.
he was FANTASTIC!!!! went so far out of his way for us it was amazing!!!
and he wasn't even our head waiter..
he was the head waiter in parrot cay on the day we boarded and helped us out so much!!

i hope the concierge team on the Dream is as dreamy as the fantasy concierge team!!!!!

Yes let Disney know its your bdayorany celebration I got a cake in my room and happy bday messages at palo and remi on plates. It was my (gulp) 30th. Don't know if anything was extra money bc it was all surprise via husband.

I've heard that the toiletries in the concierge-level rooms are Elemis. Is that true or are they the expanded line of H2O (which is what I had on the Dream)?

Thanks!
