We had to postpone our trip!! DH fell and broke his ankle last week, and will not be able to go in June as we had planned. :( We are thinking about going in October, but I was soooooo close to the 30 day mark! I am trying to stay positive about it though. I think the advantages are cooler temps, less crowding, MNSSHP, and my dad will be through with chemo then, so my parents can join us! Thankfully, we had gotten the trip insurance, so getting everything rescheduled isn't a hassle financially. Disney was awesome....no forms to fill out or anything :cool1: ......the airlines however, are another story. :sad2: We have to get an insurance form filled out by DH's doctor to "prove" that he has an injury. Just needed to cry......I am still in pouting mode......thanks for listening! :flower3:

Sorry about your trip! :grouphug: Just try and think about October and the positives; less crowds, cooler temps! You will still have a great time! ;) And I bet your husband will be feeling better too!

So sorry to hear about your DH. You will love it in October. We went last October and it was wonderful. Crowds were not bad and the weather was great!

He wouldn't consider renting an ECV for your stay. They really are quite wonderful to get around with, specially if you rent one from an offsite place. Just an alternative idea. But if you keep the October, the weather alone is an incentive. Hope you have a good trip whenever you decide to go. :cool1:

I am so sorry about your trip. We had to cancel ours in December so I know how it feels - we were less than a week away. Lots and lots of pixie dust and sympathy coming your way. You just cry on and it will feel better in a week.

Sorry about dh ankle! I know how you feel we had to cancel our March trip, about a week before. Right away I rebooked for early June. Now it's almost here. So don't worry the time will go fast.

And it could be better! Now I'm so glad I would have missed new things that coincide with the Celebration and I love the FLower & garden show.

So sorry for your husband. Hope he is filling better. I think you'll like October better anyway. That is when we will always go from now on. Everyone is right, great temperatures, low crowds, International Food & Wine Festival, MNSSHP...there are so many extras that you would miss out on if you go in June. Splurge to treat yourself and order MNSSHP tickets and that will give you something to plan for during the summer!

Sounds like the wait might be worth it!!! October is a wonderful time to go!!! Now blow your nose, put on a little smile and think happy thoughts!!!

You can cry to us...hope DH is better and your Dad, too!
We are going in October...went last Oct. too...weather was beautiful, crowds were great, F&W was awesome and MNSSHP was unbelievable!!

Planning the trip is fun, too...atleast you can still go...right?

Now...can we see a little smile???

I am a firm believer that God has his reasons! Not glad he fell at all, but it was a good thing he fell at home and not at WDW. ;)

Here's some pixie dust for his speedy recovery! :flower:

:grouphug: I hope your husband has a speedy recovery. I think you will really enjoy Oct! MNSSHP is fabulous :)

You guys are awesome! I am feeling somewhat better, now that I am planning the trip again. I felt like I made some mistakes when I booked the last trip, so I am looking at the alternatives this time. I just feel guilty right now about being concerned about a vacation when DH is hurt. Renting an ECV is out. Too hot, and DH was not entirely thrilled about going in the 1st place, much less going in a cast. I have been checking more into MNSSHP as well, and I am almost getting excited about it......still wish I could go sooner, but it may be that it worked out for the best anyway. I am excited about the cooler weather. Thanks for making me smile :flower:

Put him in a wheelchair and go! Bonus is you get front of the line at every ride!

Hi. Just fyi so people aren't mislead about this issue, the majority of lines at WDW are wheelchair accessible and those that aren't have a different entrance to the attraction. The lines accommodate people in wheelchairs and the wait time is the same as others in the same line.

I am sorry to hear about you canceling your trip, but October is a lovely time to visit WDW. My DH and I were there once in October to celebrate our anniversary and it was delightful. Take heart - October isn't that far away.

:grouphug: October will be here before you know it.

Sorry to hear about DH. I have been in October a few times and that is a great time to go. My kids had so much fun staying late for MNSSHP. You will have a great time I am sure!!

Ready to Go in OK...Looks like we'll be there the same time! We'll have fun planning our trips and the time will fly!!!
