My first theory was to go the MK (early entry) and stay til closing. However, after reading these posts, it seems the majority says to go but leave early. Can anyone say why the parks are so crowded on early entry days but only later in the day?

First, the parks generally are busier later in the day than at opening time. Why? Families often tend to sleep in "on vacation", or at least take a while to get everyone up and out the door to the parks. Also, those staying offsite or without hopper passes may tend to stay "until the end" (closing time) whereas those staying onsite and/or with hopper passes often leave during the afteroon to get a break from the heat and crowds, and return later in the day. Hope this explanation makes sense!
So, is it the opinion of most that parks with early entry are just as crowded in the afternoons and they are in the afternoons of non early entry days? Does this make sense?

It's been our experience that the parks, MK in particular, are more crowded on afternoons after early entry than they are on other afternoons. We rarely stay at MK (or AK) for the afternoon anyway, whether it is an early entry day or not. We will go to MK for early entry and leave once the park starts getting crowded. Then we'll either return in the evening for Spectromagic and Wishes, or plan to spend a different evening in MK.
