Just Need A "Shoulder": Suffering EXTREME Anxiety

:grouphug: Hugs, prayers, and peace to you.
I've been thinking about you since your original post about the mammogram (and lost puppy, too, I think). I don't have any words of wisdom that haven't been posted already. Just :grouphug: Here's hopin' Thursday gets here quick.

Christine, I'm so sorry that you are having a tough time! Hopefully you'll have good news on Thursday and if it's not good news, then you'll know and can plan your attack. I'm sure the not knowing must be tough. :grouphug:

I too am a worrier and almost make myself nuts over things...

Think positive thoughts, realize worrying won't make a bit of a difference and try try try to keep busy with other things! I always think bad news travels fast so take anything resembling good news by virtue of a delay as good news!! :wave2:

:grouphug: to you while you're waiting for your news. Are you feeling any calmer today?

I'll keep you in my thoughts.

How are things going today?? :sunny:

Well, I decided to take the day off work today. The anxiety was just too much yesterday and it was tough handling it in my "cubicle."

I still feel scared to death, but I am much more comfortable at home. Still not quite right, though.

I decided to get off my butt and go to the mall and at least get some Christmas shopping done.

While in Marshall's, I found a Dooney & Burke handbag that I know my DD (14) will LOVE for "only" $59.00. It is regularly $120 and I would never buy her such a thing. But for Christmas, I think I can get her something a little special. They actually had some cute Coach bags too (more appropriate for me, but I just couldn't justify the expense, even at more than 1/2 off). Then I found myself one of the new Rachael Ray cookbooks for $12.95. Went into Border's and it was $18.95!! Gotta love Marshall's.

After only an hour in the mall, I did start to feel panicky, tired, and out of breath. I know it's the stress. So, I quickly left, decided to go to Wendy's for a Classic Single with Cheese (to offset some of my 7 lb weight loss) :teeth: . Now, I am back home and will probably just DIS all afternoon, worry, and take a nap. How's that for coping? It is taking every bit of willpower I have not to call up the surgeon's office and snivel on the phone with them. But, I'm not going to let that darned receptionist take my dignity again.

:grouphug: I hope that today is better for you....I am going to get a mammogram today and you have been on my mind all morning. Hopefully you will hear back soon.

Good luck with that!

I think this sounds great! :teeth: Sometimes, 'ya just gotta throw the routine to the wayside and do whatever you feel like doing!

I'll share with you that yesterday I was feeling so goofy (maybe been in the house too long!) that I bought some footed sleepers for myself! :rotfl2:

I returned something to a store for DS and I ran across these grey footed sleepers and just pulled them off the display and ran for the check out! :rotfl2: Sometimes 'ya just gotta make life more fun!! :3dglasses

Christine,
Prayers and warm thoughts for you. I hope yesterday went well.

KelNottAt--Yes, it all went very well. I posted on a separate thread that my biopsy results were benign. It was an immense relief.

I think I'm still dealing with the "after effects" of extreme anxiety but that will probably take a few days to disappear.

I have been through extreme anxiety too, I know it feels like you are going to die, but you are not. And everything seems like it is the "worst" but that is your brain playing tricks on you. Hang in there, I know it's VERY hard, but it will pass. And I know about taking more Xanax. You feel like you have had more than a few beers and are going to fall asleep! Just do what feels good to you right now. Good luck.

Great news! Hurray!
I'm very happy to hear it. :sunny:

Been there! I can really sympathise with that. In my case I expected to feel relief but I didn't, it was a strange feeling. It will pass I promise. Not straight away in my experience.
ETA - CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RESULT, HERE'S TO A HAPPY, HEALTHY FUTURE!
