I love fireflies! One of the neatest things about living here. I haven't seen them this year yet and didn't see a lot last year. I grew up in Oregon and we didn't have them there. ETA: I still haven't really grown up, but I lived my first 21 years in Oregon...

Where are you?

We are in Falls Church (temporarily though--we go back to Florida at the end of next month).

Although I live in Springfield now (on the southern tip of Fairfax County), my family moved to Falls Church from Arlington (where I was born) when I was 3. I consider it my home town. My brother still lives there.

I just read about the National Capital Barbeque Battle. Sounds fun! Has anyone been to this event before, and if so, what did you think?

Oh, Caity, did you graduate last month? I think I remember you saying it was your last year, but not sure. We were at the graduation on the mall, but I spent most of my time in the Air and Space Musuem with my daughter to escape the heat. I got back just in time for the end of the Bushes speech.

yep - i was there! i was up on the stage and was one of the people standing on stage when they conferred degrees, so maybe you saw me.

did your dh graduate? congrats to him if so!
