Just met Derek Hough from DWTS at MK

And he bought me a Dole Whip float too.

Derek and his sister Julianne are in Orlando for their tour stop which is actually why I am in town too and have to say I was surprised when he and his whole tour crew got in line behind me at Aloha Island. I'm not sure if my facial expression gave away that I recognized him or not but he immediately said hello and I told him I was looking forward to the show and we had a nice conversation and as I went to pay for my order he leaned over and told the girl, "Put hers on my tab please." I thanked him then started to leave so the CM's could deal with their huge order and he waved and said, "see you at the show".

Lovely magical unexpected moment at the most Magical Place on earth for me today. Plus I got a free Dole Whip.

Who is Derek Hough, and what is DWTS?

He is a professional dancer, actor and singer and DWTS is Dancing with the Stars which he stars on. He's also been in the show Nashville and other things and was the recent star of the new Rockettes show at Radio City Hall this past spring.

He and his sister recently did an appearance on The Lip Sync Battle that LL Cool J hosts on a channel I can't remember right now. Funny show where stars compete against each other lip syncing. Julianne was a bit naughty and it was hilarious to watch Derek's reaction.

I don't watch DWTS, but my sister and mom love it. Back during our Christmas trip, they recognized a DWTS dancer (not Derek, I know who that is) and called out to him. He waved, put his head down and walked away. My mom felt insulted. I had to explain to her that these celebrities are probably bothered all day and that he most likely was trying to enjoy the day with his family.

Anyway - that was very nice of him to do - he didn't have to acknowledge you, let alone BUY you something. I've had good and bad situations with celebrities. Unless it's very negative, I rarely let it skew my opinion of the person... but something positive like this can really make me like and respect the person. Very cool. My mom and sister will be jealous!

My husband would have died!!! He loves him some Derek we saw them on tour last year and my husband and his Mom has front row seats and Derek jumped off stage and kissed my mother in law on her forehead! She still talks about it to the day! What a cool experience, can't wait to tell my hubby Derek bought you a Dole Whip! AWESOME! Have fun at the show!
