I had to share this little DVC story with everyone.
We have had to cancel our vacation (again) to WDW in August. This is third time we've put it off. DH is in the AF, and due to a new job, deployments, and other unforseen circumstances, he's not able to take leave for the next five months. The points (88) expire the end of September, so I was afraid no one would be interested in buying them. However, my brother lives in Tampa and I wondered whether or not he'd be interested in using them. I didn't have a warm fuzzy about that though either because school starts early in Florida, and I was afraid nothing would be available that would work with their schedules.
So I called my brother yesterday, and lo and behold, they already had a cash ressie at Saratoga Springs for Saturday. They were just planning on staying that one night. There was a 1-bedroom open for Saturday and Sunday at Saratoga Springs through DVC. But, DB's cash ressie had a 5-day cancellation policy. I got on the phone to DVC and WDW-Disney. After much explaining and pleading, Disney came through for us and cancelled by brother's cash reservation. DB and family were booked for a 1-bedroom at Saratoga Springs. Then last night, during my nephew's soccer practice, he was chosen to play at a soccer tournament this weekend (Sat, Sun, & Mon) with some premier players from his league. Oh no.
Oh yes! The soccer tournament is at Disney!!! Can you believe it!!! It was just mean to be. I'm so thrilled that I'm able to help my brother and his family out and use my points up at the same time. Hurray for DVC!!!
