We just got our confirmation from Captain Marvins for our half day snorkel trip in July!! It's going to be great. Stingray City and 2 other stops!

If you have done this trip (10am-1 pm) what all did you take along? Did you go back to the ship for lunch? What did you do for the rest of the day in Grand Cayman? I am assuming after 3+ hours in the sun and salt water, we will be pretty beat!

Now we have to decide what to do at Cozumal.

We did this excursion on our trip in August and I can only say great things about it!

We kept everything simple and only took a backpack with some towels, sunscreen, and our wallets.

After the excursion buses dropped us off at the Captain Marvin's office, not too far from the tendering spot for the Magic, we walked around town for a while and did some shopping. We probably spent a couple of hours looking around before we were too tired to continue. As you said, 3 hours in the sun can take a lot out of you and we needed to recoup with a couple of margaritas and a nice lounger on Deck 4!

Ahhh... You have to love the cruising life! :)

Karen, we are also considering Capt. marvins, did they say it was booking up or anything? We might be snorkeling with you!

Three circles-thanks for the reply! Your suggestion of a walk then a drink (and probably a nap after that ;) ) sounds like a wonderful way to wrap up the afternoon!

Robin-They didn't mention if it was getting booked or not. DH and I decided to make ressies last night and then we got the confirmation today. I did it early because I have been reading that the boats hold only 30 people. There are 2 scheduled half day times-10am-1pm and the other gets back at 5. We were also concerned that the later one would be too late to make it back on the ship making the earlier more popular.

We did Captain Marvin's in January of this year. Afterwards we found a taxi tour to "Hell" and the Turtle Farm. My kids loved both of these. They both have fun gift shops as well. You can get your photo by a sign that says something about hell... At the turtle farm you can pick up and hold sea turtles. If you guestimate what time you will be there you can let friends know back home and they can watch you on the webcam at the Turtle farm. As for lunch - there are many shops around - or to save time and money you can order pb sandwiches from room service on the ship and bring them with you - but I believe that Disney does not encourage this. Hope this helps!

We just did this excursion with this time slot. We got off the ship too early, we were there an hour early but checked in anyway. There is a shop across the street and one next door. They had two boats going out at the same time. We went back to the ship after. We ordered the DVD and can't wait to see how it came out.
