We were going to skip our first ever charactor meal, but decided to switch from dinner to brunch. We are going Sunday at 12:30, is this a good time to go or should I make it for earlier? We are not big meat eaters and my DS and I don't eat eggs, DH does. Will we still have good choices going to brunch rather then dinner? TY and am really getting excited! Started packing today and we don't leave til Sunday!

Anytime is a good time at Goofy's!!!!! You won't be disappointed in the selections. Since you're going during a "peak" time you will probably see a good selection of characters as well!!!! Enjoy & have a magical trip!! :wizard:

Yay!!:yay: I think you made the right choice! You know I was pushing the breakfast over dinner because that is my preference, and then I was afraid you would skip it entirely because of those ominous prices! I think it is a good thing to do it at least once and your son would love it, I think! Good or bad, like it or not, you have to report back to us and let us know what you think. By the way, if you don't eat meat you won't care that the bacon is great, but let me also point out that the FRUIT is outstanding!! Fresh, juicy and delicious!

Here is a link to a page on the Dining Thread with several posts from J.C.andAli'sMom and all sorts of photos from the Goofy's buffet! Just scroll down the page:

And I also have all kinds of character pictures at Goofy's from 1992-2008 in my Trip Report (link below in signature).

I will definately report back! I plan on doing my first trip report ever when we get home. Thank you so much for all your advice and the pics look yummy!

Have a great time!!:yay: I can't wait to read your Trip Report and see pictures!!

What are the times for breakfast/brunch and dinner?

OKay, I know the earliest seating time for PS's is 7:00 a.m., so the restaurant opens then. They serve breakfast/brunch up until early afternoon - like noon or so, but I could be wrong on that time - and everyone has their 90 minute time limit. So if you show up at 11:30, they won't kick you out at noon, for example. Everyone gets time to finish their food and mingle with the character. They close for several hours to prepare the dinner food, and they reopen, I think (again, not 100% sure) like at 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m., and serve dinner for several hours. That is the general overall time frame, but hopefully someone will know the exact times. All I know for sure is that they open at 7:00 a.m., but I have heard conflicting reports of when the breakfast/brunch hours officially end and GK closes, and also when it opens back up for dinner.

What is the smoothest transition route from DLR to Goofy's Brunch? We have 10:40 a.m. slot but we will already be in the park. How long do I need to move the fam of 5 from park to hotel to be on time?

Well, hmmm....let me ponder that. Maybe DizNee Luver can also weigh in here with her advice. (Usually I am in a small group of 2-4, but DizNee Luver has a larger group to manage, I think.) A family of 5, coming from the park and heading to Goofy's at the DLH for a 10:40 PS.... There are two ways you could do it. Depending on where you are in DL at that moment and how resistant people are to walking, you could take the Monorail from TL into DTD and walk the rest of the way from there to the DLH. The trouble with that is that sometimes you could be waiting forever to get on the Monorail. That has happened to us. You would have to stop your DL activities even earlier to get in line for the Monorail and wait. That could be a risk if the wait is long. I think the better way to do it is to just head out the front of the park and walk the length of DTD all the way to the DLH. It is not that long of a walk at all, but it may seem that way before you do it. Actually, it is quite pleasant to walk through the hustle and bustle of DTD and it gives you something to look at as you make your way to the DLH. I would say that from the entrance of DL to the boundaries of the DLH, walking at a medium clip with no major interruptions, it would take you probably 10 minutes. Possibly 15. Again, it all depends on how fast you walk and how crowded DTD is at that moment. Then, from the border of the DTD/DLH to Goofy's, it is maybe another 5 minutes if you know where you are going; 10 minutes if you don't. So I would start heading out of DL at 10:10 or 10:15, and then begin the walk over. And if you are late or early for your PS by 5 or 10 minutes, it probably won't matter too much. I am sure they will have seating available for you.

We always like to show up 15 mins prior to our PS, so we would walk from DL thru DTD starting about 10:10 (30 mins prior to your PS time)....but this also depends on crowds & where you are in the park. If you're up in Critter Country, hightail it thru the park by 10am. We never depend on the Monorail to get us to that meal, but use it to go back to the parks.

The big thing to remember is......better to be early, than late!! Someone showed up 15 mins late when we were there & told they would have to "re-schedule" for a new time!!! That would suck, especially if it was a busy time in the parks! So leave extra time, because DTD can bottleneck in places.

Here are some pics from our trip of Goofy's Kitchen:

DizNee Luver & Sherry E. -

Thank you!! Seriously!! I was so clueless.....

The fam, especially at that time of the day, will be ok with a decent paced walk. I didn't want to change the venue just because I thought I couldn't get us there.
