I am getting excited now! I am patiently awaiting my 12 free US/IOA tickets in the mail so I just made our reservations for the hotel today! For those who may be wondering about the cost......

I am paying $244/night/room for the Club Level with the AAA rate. I didn't ask about the Entertainment rate as I don't have the book. Sorry I couldn't help you out there. We are a family of six; two adults, four kids; so I had to get two rooms -- connecting. One King sized connected to two Queen's. I did ask her to check and see if we could get the second room for 50% off as some hotels will do this if you are traveling with children but it wasn't available at this time. She did tell me to keep checking back as that was a pretty reasonable thing to expect HRH to do later on!!

So if anyone ever is able to do this before June of 2002 please post it so I can check it out!! Thanks! I am always interested in hearing what others think about this hotel!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ***FYI--this past weekend I saw that the Travel Channel had a one hour show JUST about the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando. I missed most of it but if they ever play it again it would be a wealth of information!!!! They showed the Club Level lounge and it's many offerings which was one of the reasons we decided to go ahead and splurge!*** :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

When we booked our rooms for November we were told we could get the 50% off the second rooom - family rate - we were not club level I don't know if that makes a difference. so keep checking back they do offer the discount

Have you thought about rserving the "kids suite" at the HRH? I called last month to check prices for our august trip (sold out). The rate was $244 nitely for the hte 2 bath, l king, 2 twin suite with the universal fan club card. ( the fan club card is available from many large employers)

hercamore's suggestion is excellent! I witnessed a family checking in that had reserved 2 rooms and the woman at check in offered them the same deal! A kids suite for $244 a night. I would ask about that too. But they were a family of 5 I am unsure if a family of 6 could fit.

I can tell you that as an official family of six we managed with one room, frankly the lounge is the largest extra room you will ever find, it has better stuff, DVD's than the rooms, it has two rooms
with big tv's-if you have teenagers, have them bring their own DVD as the ones they have tend to be like fantasia, also someone had a playstation II, the guys hooked it up for them.Really other than pure sleeping and bathing type stuff, the kids stayed out there the whole time. They had unlimited cookies/milk around 7:30 or 8:00.They have sodas all the time. It never closed, it was open at least til 12:00 or so.We did the pizza delivery one night and took pizza there and ate it, they had free sodas.Never underrate the lounge, it rains so much there in the evening, it saved us the night the pool closed, it happens alot, just a thought. We payed like $125 night, the upgrade was free with the Loew's card, keep checking back, eventually they will go down....

Radar--how did you fit 6 into one room? They wouldn't let me reserve only one room. They asked me how many adults and asked for the ages of the children and how many. The maximum occupancy was 5 in a room so they told me a needed two rooms. I did want the Club Level so we could enjoy the extra conveniences it offers..........like the free continental breakfast, soda, milk and snacks. The kids drink way too much soda on vacation as it is so the milk availability will be wonderful!! The first day we are just planning on hanging out at the hotel so it will really come in handy! I want to learn more about the pool cabanas now!!!:D You mentioned that the lounge had better stuff than the room. Do the rooms have DVD players in them? Are the DVD rentals free? If not, do you know the cost? What kind of pizza delivery did you do and was it tasty?? We love pizza!! I thought about getting two regular rooms and hoping for a free upgrade but that would be taking a HUGE chance at disappointment if it wasn't available. 1. We will be there in June, a fairly busy time and 2. We would have to have both rooms upgraded.

JessicaR and hercamore-- I did check out the kid's suites but I don't think they would have room for six. And then I would have a fight between the kids on who would get the two twin beds and their own room vs. who had to share the sleeper sofa in the living room (if there even is a sleeper sofa). So two rooms may be the best option for us. We do use the kid's suite whenever we go to the HIFS though!! The kids love it there. I wish I could get the fan club card but neither our credit union nor my husband's work offers it. I am still sore with Disney for changing their free MKC card for the pay a fee Disney Club. GGRRR!! My own little pet peeve.....please ignore me!!
;)

Claudine--thanks for the information! I will keep checking back from time to time. Glad you got the grate rate!!

Thanks for all of the replies!!
