Just made a last min. ADR to Whispering Canyon.....

It seems to get relatively good reviews on the Dis, at least for the "fun" factor but we did not really like it. It was ediable but not anything to write home about. Ribs were covered in sauce but dry inside; chicken was OK; corn fine; potatoes good but it's hard to make bad potatoes; corn bread was terrible...phewwy!! Dry, dry, dry!!

Asking for ketchup & getting a 100 bottles was fun & getting the extra, extra, extra large glass of water for my VERY thirsty ten year old was cute. We did it, it was OK but honestly, with all the good restaurants Disney has, we won't go back.

We did not like it. We waited over 30 minutes for our table; we were put in the back room while there were tables available in the main room; our server was horrible. We ended up being there for over 2 hours. We saw/heard none of the antics in the two hours we were there. The food was mediocre at best (DH got sick on the ribs and/or chicken in the skillet--the only things I didn't try becasue I didn't like any of the other stuff in the skillet). The best part of the whole meal was the chocolate shake.

Yuck!! Bad food, bad service. But I'm one of those people that no matter how bad you tell me something is, I still want to try it for myself. So I'm not discouraging you from trying it. I'm just warning you ;)

HOWEVER, the cinnamon tortilla dessert was delicious.

I WISH they would sit us in the back away from all the antics. i've never had any problems with the food. I've always foudnt he cornbread to be delicious and the ribs to be perfect.

The service was all nice, but they played too much into the gimmick. I mean, there were no kids at our table, was it necessary to have every kid walk over to our table and slam ketchup down? My girlfriends father can't stand the place because its loud and crazy. But he enjoys the food.

II would say to try it. The food is good. If you have kids, I'm sure they'll enjoy it.

I've eaten there a few times and always had good food and service.

We had really great experiences that last three trips. Very good food and good value.

Last year when we went (after not going for many many years- never were wowed)we were led to our seat.
In the section behind the main section- I said "Oh no No man's land!" And the hostess pointed to the area behind ours and said "No THAT"S no man's land"
:rotfl2:
So we missed out on the tom foolery. But our waitress was pretty good. She was funny. The food was fine. Nothing great but I would rate it a 6 better than average- not worth the trip for us but if you are going to be there or have never seen the wilderness lodge then it'll be worth it.

Oh and don't sit in NO MAN'S LAND!

We are going there in March....it is one of our must do's for us as well....we have ADRs for Dinner and for Breakfast....the breakfast has a great all-you-can-eat skillet too....YUMMY!!!! Plus it also helps that we are staying at WL too so it is more convient for us.
