Just Keep Swimming - March 31-April 7, 2013 - Closing Thoughts (Updated 5/17)

Love the pictures from Top of the World. I just had to sit for a little bit and look at the one looking towards the MK with the lights on all the buildings on Main Street. One of these days, maybe I can convince DW we need DVC so we can go up there... :rolleyes1

The DHS day looks like it is off to a good start. Love some RnRc, but a 40 minute wait already!?!? Wow!!! I'm glad single rider was open. Hopefully it wasn't too long of a wait for him.

Just joining in! Love looking at F&G pics. We are going this time of year for first time in 2.5wks!!!

The room does look nice and the view was really nice.
That bacon meatloaf is so good. Oops, I ate it all alone. LOL
That brownie is also very good. LOL
I like the wine glass.
Great night pics.
Good wait time for TSM.
All caught up again.

Good for you for getting to TSM with a short wait!! :thumbsup2

Always a good thing, especially during Spring Break.

Yes, you NEED DVC. Get the DW on board with that.

Yep. 40 minutes by 8:30 AM. They had just opened single rider and DS said it took a while to get on since there weren't many singles. About 20 minutes, I guess. It was fine.

:welcome: 2.5 weeks !!! Yay !! Where are you staying ?? Give us the details.

BLT was AMAZING !! Have you guys stayed there yet ??

Yes, we love the meatloaf ....LOL. there have been times I could eat it all myself.

I love those wine glasses, too. We got them at Mickey's Pantry.

DH took the night pics. He is lots better at it than me. He says my hands aren't steady enough. Whatevs.

thank you!! AKV- Kidani!!! First time dlx!:banana::banana:

You will love it !! We stayed at Kidani last April (Jambo this time) and I like Kidani better. Did you get a savannah view ?? Did you get a one bedroom or a studio ?? We have TONS of photos from last year if you want to take a look.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2911210

The only drawback is that you have to take the shuttle or drive down to Jambo to get food. But still, we loved it !!

Oh hey !! You are Alicia !! I recognize you from the Our Disney Travels FB page. :yay:

One bedroom. Standard view. Though I wish we had done Savannah...I canceled a night, so I have enough pts, but I don't know if there are any and I LOATHE bothering the lady we got our pts from again.
We are also staying one night at WLV, studio. Just to see another resort, from the room anyway! lol!

The one bedrooms at Kidani are so amazing !!

I have TR from WLV as well if you want the link to see photos. Just let me know.

ETA: Actually, it is the first scooter mom TR in my siggie. We really enjoyed that resort. It is very relaxing.

Day 2 – Part Two

While we were over at Areosmith, DH took DD to ride Star Tours.

They got to ride twice with no wait.

And judging from this photo I uploaded she also had a nutritious breakfast.

DH and DD came over to meet us at Fairfax Fare

I took that photo in September – don’t be fooled. This place had about 20 people in line for breakfast.

DH and I got breakfast here, the kids didn’t want anything. Well, DS ate my sausage out of my sandwich.

For a full review of our meal, go HERE.

After that, it was time for our fast passes for TSM. The second time this day, y’all.

DD had some popcorn.

DH and DS saw this in November.

They said that if it is a walk on, it is OK, but don’t waste any time waiting in line for it.

At about this point, the time was about 10:30 AM or so. We decided to ride the Great Movie Ride. And let me tell you ….. the line for this was snaked all through there and coming out the side entrance and going for a ways. The wait was listed as 30 minutes. This was one of the rides where if you are in a scooter, they let you in earlier than everyone else. Let me debunk the belief that this happens everywhere. Because it doesn’t. And most of the time you have to wait longer. But we did get the advantage on this one ride. It probably saved us about 10 minutes.

Anyway, I took photos in line.

They were running both the cowboy and the gangster scenes on this morning. I presume to keep the volume of people moving though at a good pace. Sadly, we got the gangster scene again. If I had known, I would have waited for the cowboy. But still … we like this ride. I especially enjoy the montage at the end.

Next, we headed over to the Backlot Tour.

DH likes this attraction. The kids and I find it boring, but we decided to do it since they are closing it down soon.

This was an abbreviated presentation. No actors or volunteers participated. I imagine they were doing this to keep the crowds moving through. We waited about 10 minutes.

There were lots of people working in the areas there.

Then Catastrophe Canyon

They had the Lights Motors Action show going and we got to see the cars take off and make a bunch of noise.

After that, it was about lunch time and the kids were starving so we went over to check and see if we could get in early for our ADR for 50’s Prime Time.

They're getting rid of Backlot? I admit it needs something not as good as it used to be years ago.

I would choose Star Tours over Rock n Roller coaster. Not my type of ride at all.

Yes, rumor is that they are getting rid of Backlot and Lights, Motors, Action to make way for Carsland which I think is VERY exciting. Ironically, I would chose RnR over Star Tours because Star Tours makes me sick. :crazy2:

Wait, they're getting rid of Backlot Tour? Since when? If that's the case, I need to add it to my list for next month.

Ahh I have to admit I won't miss backlot. I would do it again for nostalgia's sake.
I would 100% go on Rock N Rollercoaster over Star Tours! ST makes me nauseated.

Me too !! I can handle RnR because it only lasts 2 minutes or so, but Star Tours takes longer and you have that enclosed space and moving screen thing and ...... no. I even tried taking a Bonine before going and I still felt sick. No fun.

I don't think I've ever seen people working in the costume shop while on the Backlot Tour. That's pretty cool! While I won't cry for the loss of that tour, I will very much miss LMA when they get rid of it to build whatever is going to go there. I know I'm one of the few, but I really enjoy that show. It never gets old to me.

Personally I want to see that area plus Streets of America and the Muppets area gone and replaced with Star Wars! ( I have plan for the layout. PM me Disney Imagineers. I know you are trolling this message board!) The Muppet Show can occupy some of the space, but on the side bordering Pixar Place. I'd like to see Carsland remain special to DCA, but I won't cry if it comes to DHS. I suppose it is too popular for them to not attempt to bring it east. I just really want some more Star Wars!!

This is the animal she chose. It is a Tasmanian Wolf. Whatever that is.

This is what my oldest granddaughter chose, as well. Definitely different than the normal puppies, kitties, and bears a child might have at home, huh?

I will be following along to enjoy your pictures. Disney pictures and Disney stories make Disney waits much easier - and sometimes harder, but easier at the same time. ;) Come on, June and December!
