we usually stay on property for convenience....
by the way, i believe the price Wayne is quoting for OKW for free dining, also includes the tickets - so take that into account when you're comparing prices...

Unfortunately that quote was before adding tickets, it was for 2 bed villa & regular dining plan for 4 adults and 2 children.

:cheer2: and welcome, I am from ayrshire too, whereabouts are you? i am in troon.

really? i played with the disney uk website and came up with something close to that, including tickets for 6 people..
the free dining plan includes tickets - you HAVE to buy tickets when you take the free dining plan...
at least i think you do.....i know we were told we have to take tickets for our free dining plan...

Just priced up again, 14 nights October.
Hotel with free DDP £3,094 + tix (14 days) £1,426 total £4,520

Up quite a bit from this Oct £2,798 +tix £1,274 total £4,072

Yes you have to add tix to get free DDP, minimum 5 day tix but 5 days cost almost as much as 14 days.

still terribly pricey though....

Doh!!!
Just seen what I did wrong, I just did 4 adults 2 children, never saw ages on previous post, 1 child is an infant. My quote was adding an extra child ticket.

Doesn't work great with 4 adults + 2 children, 8 adults could stay for same price (+tix)

yes, because oddly they don't charge extra for free dining when you have more than 2 people in a room...
that is, the room with free dining is the same charge whether you have 2 people or 8.....

if they can overcome the transportation issue, there are much better deals to be had off property (assuming cost is an issue)..
when our kids were young and we had to be frugal, we stayed in off property suites (that no longer exist)....they had simple pools, but our kids were thrilled....to a 5 and 2 year old, a pool is a pool.....and it was really nice to have a kitchen, so that we could eat some of the meals in the suite.....much easier when the kids are really little..

the sheraton vistana is an outstanding resort, with really nicely done suites (they call them villas, but to me they're suites)..

dreams unlimited (the sponsor of these boards) usually has really low rates for the sheraton vistana, so you might want to check with them - though i don't know if you're buying a package deal from your agent...

however, i don't know if the sheraton vistana offers transportation to the parks or not....perhaps you could check this on the resorts board....or even put in a question to one of the Dreams Unlimited agents (and ask them for a quote)..

I've had a couple of quotes for Sheraton vistana. First Choice quoted us £4654.00, VA quoted us £4077 (both without tickets). Didn't think that was too bad?? They offer free transport to WDW, so that was a bonus. Also priced staying on site, phoned 1st choice tonight and they quoted us £5000 for me, hubby and two girls with the free dining plan and 14day tickets. I'm not really bothered where we stay, as you said to kids a pool is a pool, my oldest won't mind what the hotel/appartment is like, she's easy pleased! We like going to Sea World, so thought that staying off site would be a bit better. Fairfield is now ruled out as it's a bit far to walk anywhere!!

Anyone stayed at Sunspree Resort?

Never stayed at Sunspree but everytime I read reviews they are not good. Heres tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re..._Resort_Lake_Buena_Vista-Orlando_Florida.html

Not in the same league as Sheraton vistana http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re..._Resort_Lake_Buena_Vista-Orlando_Florida.html

Have you looked at Flydrive or flight only prices and doing it all yourself? too early for flight only but you could look at this years prices to give you an idea.

A 2 bed aprt at Sheraton Vistana would cost about £1100 or a 2 bed family suite at Nickelodeon Family Suites would be similar price.

Thanks for the welcome! I live in Auchinleck, about 15 miles from Ayr. Tiny wee village so you may not have heard of it!! :)

Yip near cumnock! welcome to the boards you will get lots of info here, everyone is really friendly.
