Or put an "out of order" sign on the door.
Or a sign in the bathroom that says "Please jiggle the handle after flushing."

I dealt with that for years before DH finally fixed it. I still find myself occasionally jiggling even though I don't have to.

We had a handle that would fall off if you flushed and didn't know the trick to keep it on. Had been meaning to get it fixed. Couple people ended up calling from the bathroom that they needed help because they thought they broke it.
