Just hung up w/ Disney Travel(AKL)

Took the deal........was offered SSR and I took it. I felt like I was on Deal or No Deal. Pressed and pressed. jokin'. The CM was very nice and I felt that if I was this nervous and stressed over this, to just witch and we will go to AKL in the winter and stay at AKL during our land and sea DCL.They were very generous with the $$ difference, too. She said pretty much EVERYONE will be getting a call-The constuction activity just got kicked up 2 notches. You WILL hear, SEE and FEEL the construction in the water view rooms. That was a quote.Im pretty sad, but, the thought of being in a seperate sleeping area from the kids with a jacuzzi sounds heavenly after 10 hours in the parks.

You will not be disapointed at SSR. Go with a positive attitude and take advantage of the jacuzzi, the balcony and the quiet laid back atmosphere.
When you get your trip to AKL it will be that much better. Have a great time.

Well. I talked to a CM just yesterday and it seems that club level is receiving priority. He says that the noise will be minimal and only the Sunset Savannah will be affected. My stay isn't until October so I will be calling back in September before I buy my tickets and make sure my room is still secure.

**on a side note i have talked to ##### from guest services before and she really is a sweetheart.

My dates were July 4 - 9. Pool view. The constuction was kicked up 2 notches ***** said to finish the phase by Sept so you friends should be ok. ##### was great......it's not easy starting of the conversations with" Hi. My name is ###### and Im calling from the Disney Travel Co. in regards to your upcoming vacation at our evergrowing AKL. Unfortunately......."

thanks my friend really doesn't want to move but has a list of resorts they would be willing to change too so hopefully they won't need that if it will be done in September!

Please do not post specific CM names, there is a plethora of reason for this - not the least of which is that Disney monitors these boards and CMs have been questioned about things posted here.

Enjoy the SSR. I has 3 phone calls with disney reservation before we got the Poly. Glad you love your choice we love our poly choice. now we are reading up on the fun things to do there! something else to get excited for.
We should make tshirts that say
"AKL REFUGEE"
then we could give each other a wink and a smile!

Congratulations on the upgrade. Wow, to get a one bedroom, what a coop. To think you went from a room at AKL to a room that has over 700 square feet in it, a king bed, jacuzzi tub, 2 TVs, a DVD player, microwave and so much more! The AKL will be new and improved by the time you get back to them at a future date, but this is a great opportunity to try a room with so much space. And you did mention you got $$ back too?? Even better!

oh, and the resv. lady called me back to ask which day we wanted to use our fireworks vip pass at epcot. and also that she was going to put in a request for a water view room. is that different than a garden view? I jsut said ok. figure at this point just me happy with what I got.

I think you will love the space at SSR...what you lose in atmosphere at the AKL you can soak away in the jacuzzi after a long day at the parks!! Besides with the cash back you can go a long way toward paying for the next trip to AKL!!

can i just say how lucky you are! wow! you all will love poly! my family of 19 people stayed there christmas week and absolutely loved all of it (i'll be going there in three weeks). i've been to hawaii this past year and staying at poly makes me feel like i'm back on the island. the kids in my group loved the pool and the sand on the beach. i hope you have a wonderful time!

I just booked AKL today (pool view) for Dec 6-10. The CM did inform me of the construction---but did not state it would be as bad as I'm reading here. Did they give you the hours of construction ?
I, personally, would not want to be "upgraded" to SSR because I need two real beds. I'm sharing the room with a friend from work. I don't think either one of us would want to sleep on the sofa bed. If they upgraded me, it would have to be somewhere that had two actual beds. So hoping the construction won't be so bad by the time December rolls around.....
