Just how loud is Pop?

We stayed a ASM back in 2011 and loved it. We had a room that was nice and quiet. For our 2018 vacation, I was planning on switching to Pop for a new experience and requesting a lakeside room. However, lately I have been seeing posts on Facebook of people saying Pop is loud and the walls are paper thin that you can hear toilets flushing and people in the next room talking. Has anyone experienced this? I'm a light sleeper, and now I"m starting to second guess whether trying out Pop this time is a great idea.

There's no difference in the construction materials used between the All Stars and Pop. Who your neighbors are will be the biggest factor.

A top floor might help too since you won't have anyone stomping above you.

We stayed last year in August and i didnt think it was that loud. I went to bed just fine and didnt get woken up in the morning at all

We have stayed at the POP several times and never thought it was noisy. We slept well and woke up when we wanted to! :)

We stayed at Pop and it was not noisy at all. I do believe any resort it does depend on your location for noise. We had a nice quiet room, facing a courtyard closer to the edge of the property and really heard nothing.

We've never had a noise issue at Pop. I'm sure it can depend on whether you go during some of the big sports team weeks or school trips, etc, because Pop is often where they stay. I don't think it's particularly noisier than other values though. And if you're bringing a computer or similar device with you, I typically play white noise online through the night rather than buying or packing a fan just for that purpose. There are lots of sites where you can stream white noise for free.

We stayed at Pop and didn't hear anything more than the neighbors door opening and clicked sing when they came in at night.

We had much worse sound issues at AKL (possibly due to being g in an adjoining room).

Definitely try to get top floor. We got stuck in a bottom floor room near a corner with a busy path and is was LOUD! Even just people speaking in normal voices as they walked by seemed amplified.

We stayed on the top floor and other than hearing someone's shower in the morning we didn't have any issues. I sleep with ear plugs though to drown out my husbands CPAP machine. I agree with dansdad though, it's all going to depend on your neighbors.

Exactly this. No difference from All Stars and Pop. Heck, even the moderates are the same! Thin walls everywhere, you can hear toilet flushing....but thats not a big deal to me. Its true that bliss will depend on who your neighbours are. I have never had any nightmare neighbours out of all the values i've stayed in. Maybe only once do i recall a child talking loud very early in the morning in the room next to us. Other than that, it was fine.

It must depend on the room's location. I stayed at ASMusic many years ago and was unable to sleep because of the noise--I heard every single thing (conversation-level talking, moving around, nighttime (ahem) activities, baby crying, you name it) from the room next door, every suitcase rolling by the doorway, the people on the stairs, etc. I was in a room at the end of a corridor (not the top floor--and, btw, I heard nothing from above) and the room next door must've been connecting. The toilet flushing didn't bother me, but it can be heard in many rooms at WDW, not just in the Values.

I've been an apartment dweller in NYC my entire adult life, so it's not like having neighbors was news to me, but this was impossible.

After that experience, I've never stayed in a Value. I need my sleep--and there was utterly no way to block out all these different noises.

I haven't stayed there since 2012 but that was my exact experience. It was VERY loud.

We had a pool view and the noise from there was rather annoying. There was what I considered to be large gaps around the door, allowing more noise to come in.

I'm a very light sleeper, so this made a difference to me.

Otherwise, we loved the resort. We've stayed at all levels of resort and thought, aside from the noise, POP was excellent. We enjoyed the food court and gift shop. Of course, that was several years ago so I don't know how things have changed since then.

I will be very interested to see whether eliminating the soft floors (carpet) does anything to increase the noise level. I would guess carpet absorbs some of the sound. I really want to like the remodeled rooms, but I'm not happy with the decision to eliminate the noise barrier. I'm eager for someone to stay in one and report back on if there's a sound difference with the new floors!

We chose a preferred room May 2016 and requested a top floor, pool view and were given both. The top floor helps a lot. I didn't hear much of the noise from the pool, either.

I've stayed at Pop numerous times and have never had a noise issue during my stays.

I have had a noisy experience on each of my three Pop stays. Maids vacuuming early morning, toilets flushing over and over again, doors slamming shut, people talking...last trip was enough to convince me to be done with Values forever. I use earplugs nightly and they did not help at all. I was so tired that whole trip.

have stayed at POP 10 times over the last 7 years. Have never been bothered by noise and I am a light sleeper. Usually get lake side and I do use a fan noise app on my phone when i sleep.

Have fun and enjoy your vacation.
