Just how difficult is it

to get a 2 bedroom at the 7 month window at one of the smaller resorts (BWV, BCV, VWL)? Our home resort is SSR, but we don't really want to stay there on this trip. We'll be going the last week of April next year.

Since Easter is in March next year, you should be able to get a 2 bedroom at any of those resorts at the end of April if you call at the 7 month window.

You may have difficulty if you want a standard view or a Boardwalk view at BWV - those categories tend to book up before the 7 month window opens.

What we're going to need is anecdotal experience. There are so many more families in DVC now, and so we don't really know what booking at the home resort at 11 months and then changing at the 7th month window will be like. Last year we were able to get BCV about 7 months out for a visit in May, and this year, I'm hoping to do the same.

Chances are that if you are open to any of the three resorts and give the waitlist time to work if your reservation isn't avaiable on the first call, you will end up with what you want. However, if you know for sure that you want to be in WDW that week, you should consider making a reservation at SSR that can be changed when you hit the 7 month mark.

This year, I booked a 2-br at 7 months out for our April vacation, and there was availability at all four resorts. The only thing I couldn't get, not surprisingly, was a BWV standard view. You should be okay.
