We are going November 1st - November 5th hoping it will not be crowded. Just how crowded will this week be if it is Jersey week. When does Jersey week start? Please fill me in on this. Thanks:yay:

The most crowded part of Jersey Week is Thursday-Sunday because all schools in NJ are off Th/Fr. Some schools are off all week, and some parents just take the Mon-Wed off anyway--even so, the beginning of the week isn't as bad as the end of the week. That is my one experience with Jersey Week from last year. The first few days were fine. Longer lines than I would have expected for the most popular stuff (50+ min for Fantasyland rides surprised me), but nothing compared to the crowds that appear later in the week. You should be fine. It won't be empty, but completely manageable.

I was hoping maybe 20 to 30 min line waits, but as long as it will not be as crowded as New Years and Easter week(spring break),I think we will enjoy it much better.

try to use EE and hit rides during parades AND in the last hour of park opening to avoid long lines if you can and utilize FP as much as possible, too.

We are taking the kids out of school for 2 days and we get one day off for teacher workday. We have never taken our kids out of school, but they try to never miss school. We have twins 6th grade and one 8th grader. We are only staying four nights, so maybe it won't be too crowded. Just let me know who's going November 1st and let me know your input on crowd level and weather. Thanks:cool1:

We always avoid Jersey Week. In our experience, it is very crowded and unpleasant.

Please,if there is anyone out there that as been during this time, please let us know. Some say it will be good, because Jersey week doesn't get busy until the end of the week. I was hoping that everyone would stay home to vote on November 4th and maybe come later in the week. We will more than likely vote early, because we are leaving on November 1st for Disney. Staying at POP for 4 nights.

Of those Jerseyans going down, half will go for just the long weekend (Thurs-Sun), while the other half will go for the full week.

Crowds will be higher than usual for Nov, however, nothing like peak times.

You can tell by hotel capacity and rates. If the parks would be full, you would see blackouts and no occupancy however that's still not the case.

I hate to say it, but I think having election day the Tuesday before the 2 day break will make the entire week more busy than a usual Jersey week since a lot of schools have off for election day in NJ or they at least make it a teacher's only day.

We went Easter week 08 and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it just can't be as busy as last time!!:headache:

I haven't been for NJ week since 2003, but also went that week quite a few times before then. Over the years we found it very busy, but not as busy as our Easter Trips, and even found it lighter then our late June trip in 2007. It was probably in line with our mid-June trip in 2006. The weather is usually much nicer then the June trips. This year I have noticed more availability for flights at OK prices if you are willing to play with dates, and we got a great discount using the General Public discount online. All this makes me feel like it might not be quite as busy as it has been in the past.

Just want to add we vote by absentee ballot

I hope it won't be as busy as years before. Alot of people are on a smaller budget now with the gas prices being sooooo high and to be honest with you, we really should not be going. We just could not pass up this good offer. We have never taken our kids out of school before to go to Disney and we have never been during this time of year, so we thought we would just go and stay 4 nights and not a full week. It takes us 8 hours to drive to Disney, so 4 nights should be sweet and short.

We were there (unknowingly when we booked) for Jersey Week in 2006...It also happened to be veterans day weekend to boot... alot of kids from everywhere had long weekends off school. We were there for the whole week. Try to hit the smaller more crowded parks 1st (you can't move in AK when the crowds are large!!) while the attendance is a bit lower. Do the biggest parks (ie Epcot) at the end since it's so large the crowds don't seem as bad!! We also waited and hit Typhoon Lagoon at the end of the week...it wasn't too bad at all. I assume that the long weekenders don't mess with the WPs since they're only there for a limited amount of time!!

On the plus side... New Jersey has the week off...but the other 49 states don't!! So it's not nearly as bad as Easter, Tgiving, Xmas...or even the Summer(even though the crowds can be close to early June/late August size...the temperature is SOOOOO much more comfortable!
Don't stress about your trip...you'll have fun...make sure you have a bit of a touring plan...hit the Big stuff early/late during parades or EMH, and be sure to book your ADRs well in advance!!

Thanks so much for the info. I called 3 days ago and was able to get Ohana's on November 1st and November 4th for 5:15pm for 10 of us. To me that was a good sign that it won't be to crowded.I have been to disney about 16 times and years ago it was never that crowded. For the past 10 years it has been really crowded. We always have to go when the kids are out of school, which is always a holiday, so this time we are going to be brave and keep them out of school. I may regret it due to the classwork, homework and test they may miss, but they will only be missing 2 days of school, because we are off on Nov. 4th for a teacher workday. I think we can deal with the crowd better when its not so hot. So, thats why we picked November 1st. Praying for good weather and low crowds.:yay:

We are also going to be at Disney Nov. 1-8. I was a bit worried about the crowds until I booked our dining plans on Monday of this week. We were able to book every restaurant that we wanted and the times that we wanted except Le Cellier at Epcot. We had to choose a lunch ressie instead of dinner. We are fine with that though. We were even able to book the Hoop Dee Doo on the date and time we wanted and still get a table right next to the stage!!!:cool1:
