We are considering a trip at Christmas time....my DH is VERY concerned about the crowds...he asked me to ask my friends on "the computer" how busy it will be....

we are looking at the week between Christmas and New Years...he is worried that it is as busy as Spring break..is it?

No, it is much busier than spring break. NYE is unbelievably crowded. That being said, it is still fun.

We were there for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's Eve and it was veary crowded. We spent most of our time at Epcot because it did not seem as crowded as the other parks...I think because of it's size crowds are dispersed better.

We did have a great time though. We used Fast Pass for our favorite attractions and then just soaked up the holiday atmosphere. The best night was Christmas Eve, we went to MGM about an hour before closing and walked through the Osborne Family Lights, very festive walking down New York street with 'snow falling'. We then rode on GMR and we were the only ones in our car. A private showing it was fun because the CM improvised a lot because there were only 3 of us.

It was quite cold that year. We are from Colorado and we wore our heavy winter coats and were still chilly at times. We were glad we decided to take those coats!

If your family is not good with crowds Christmas time may not be the time to go but if you are willing to be patient and know that it will be crowded you'll have a great time. It's a wonderful time to visit.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is historically the busiest week of the year at WDW.

:earsboy:

he is soooooo not going to want to hear this news:eek:
maybe we will pull the kids out of school and go earlier in December...see the decorations, go to MVMCP, but not bump people

I assume early December is not so bad?

I have been there the first week of Dec. as well and it was not bad at all. Very enjoyable and you'll still get to see all of the holiday decorations which as with most things that Disney does are outstanding!

We were there the second week of Dec. (around the 12th) in 1998 and it was great. No crowds, but cold. You never know about the weather though. Last January 2003 (New Years Week) we froze!!! Then this January 2004 (New Years Week) it was 85 degrees!!! We've learned to pack both ways.

DH went park hopping to buy me pins on Christmas Day. He still can't believe how busy it was.
He arrived at MK early and took a bus to AK.
As he was leaving for AK on the bus, he saw the cars were backed up to hwy 192 to enter MK. :earseek:
