We normally go in Nov., Dec., or Feb. Due to a great deal we are looking at maybe going the week of labor day. The crowd levels don't look bad at all but how hot is it? We are from Missouri and it can be really hot and humid here during the summers in the 90's sometimes so hot when you walk outside it catches your breath and you sweat non-stop. Is it that hot?:crazy2:

Any input on the pros and cons of this time would be great. Thanks!

Hello,

Sorry I amno help as we booked a Sept trip too! We have went in Apr., May, Oct. , Nov. and Dec! I bet it will be hot! :)

We have many trips in September in our disney career. We are from the north so yes it is really hot in Florida during this time. We deal with it by hitting the parks early and taking a break mid afternoon.

Good Luck. Usually in September they do offer the free dining promo as well.

in a word... Love Bugs.......are so annoying....they are everywhere and too us it was humid heat....I would rather just go in June..

Absolutely.....worse even, if you can imagine that. September is still summer in Florida, and the sun is brutal and intense.

The hottest single day I ever spent at WDW was a Labor Day at the MK.

We go every year in September. It's hot, humid, and rainy. We usually do parks in the mornings, swim at the resort in the afternoons (unless it's water park day), then hit the parks back up after sun down.

I will be honest and say low crowds or not, you couldn't pay me to go back in September. The heat just seemed to suck all the life out of my family (and we are from Kentucky so it's not like it isn't hot/humid here), and everyone was just done by 11-12 every day.

Yes, it's hotter than the hottest hot. Like walking into a wall of hot.

The biggest con of this time of year (we usually go the last week of August) is the weather. Your days can get cut short or chopped up due to the extreme heat and the daily storms that roll in (with lightning usually, so ponchos won't cut it!). We don't get as much done as when we go in cooler months.

We are usually happy enough if we get out at rope drop, get a lot done in the mornings and early afternoons, and then play it by ear for later in the afternoon and evenings.

Crowds are good though!

It's hot. You'll sweat a LOT! Is it worth it? Of course!! ;)

As you can tell by my siggy, we love going in September and we're from Missouri also. We love it though...it's hot, but your days are broke up so much getting on rides, attractions, meals, etc., it's never bothered us.

I'm also from Missouri. FL in September is worse. Surface of the sun hot.

Many tolerate it well by spending a lot of time indoors ducking from one indoor spot to another. But I just can't do it.

If you don't tolerate heat well, you won't tolerate September in Florida.

We'll be trying mid September this year as well. If it's as hot as everyone is describing, then we will be able to pack light with shorts and tshirts. And drink lots of water.

I'll tell you, I will never go back to Disney in September if I can help it. We were there this past September and it was wicked hot all the time, it rained constantly, and bugs were EVERYWHERE.

I mean it was Disney, so of course I had a blast, but my husband & I's January trip was a lot better simply because the weather wasn't so extreme.

Been to Disney September 2013 and September 2014.

Crowds: Crowd levels were very low in 2013, but higher than we expected this past year. I will say the crowds were still much better than the other times of year we have visited though :)

Weather: If it's not cold, I'm happy. And, we live in Texas. So, when we go to Disney in September, it's 100 degrees plus in the hot, hot Texas sun back home. So, it's completely bearable for us LOL. The love bugs are in full force at that time on the drive there, but honestly, we only saw a few near doors of the resorts, and not really at all in the parks. (except for one day near Star Tours). If you wear sunscreen and stay hydrated you will be just fine. Due to hurricane season, most days are overcast. Be prepared for rain. Bring ponchos and spare shoes and socks.

I think it's totally worth the weather issues to experience the parks with lower crowds. And, like others mentioned, they typically offer Free Dining in September. :thumbsup2

I live in Atlanta and went to university of Florida for undergrad. It's hot, but honestly, I think some people here blow it a little out of proportion. Yes, it's humid, too, and if you really hate heat, don't go in September. But if you're at least somewhat used to heat, it isn't THAT bad.

Now the 12 degree low we are expected to have tonight? Now THAT'S atrociously bad!!!

I thought Love Bugs were in spring??? I've been there in September and have never seen them. Either way, I think you can do September as long as you go out early and plan a air-conditioned break during the hottest time of the day.

It is hot in September. I have been the last couple of years and I will be going Sept. 19-25 this year. I usually go the week after Labor Day, but I wanted to try the Food and Wine Festival. You can't beat the low crowds. Sure it is still busy, but hey it's Disney World. It is gonna be busy.

So, IMO September is a great time to go. Why?? Crowds are low, Food and Wine, and just being in WDW !!

Have fun planning ! I love the planning and you are in the right place to get lots of information!!! I love DISBOARDS!

Forget those others... Yes it's hot and humid... It's Florida... We go in middle September for the sun and heat... Pool time at the resort is a part if our enjoyment and we're not going to WDW if the weathers going to be cold and iffy....

From Florida and it is brutally hot in early September. Just as hot as July or August and still regular afternoon showers/t-storms. At least crowds will be lighter!

Yes it will be brutally hot, rainy and humid. Plan accordingly. Crowds will be great , when are you going?
