No...but no news is "bad news" when it comes to imagineering...Wait a sec, did they recall their announcement to end late night at AK?
They never made an announcement to end nighttime at AK. The only announcement made was that jungle book wouldn't continue past September 5th. Everything else is.
Well nothing at DHS was/is supposed to open in 2017.
Avatar will be finished by December. Looking like summer will be the sweet spot.
Late night at AK isn't going anywhere especially when avatar opens.
WDW did practically nothing for 10 years which is why we are seeing so much done at once. Don't worry about Epcot yet as plans aren't even finalized or announced.
The fool took this too far in my opinion. Disney just updated September hours from 7 or 8 to 9PM two weeks ago. Disney has been updating the AK calendar slowly and month by month. I think we will see October hours moved to 8-9 as well as November. We most definitely won't see an 11PM closing at AK in the fall and winter. Epcot even closes at 9 around that time of year. Disney is always changing its park hours and they aren't finished with AK yet. Disney has not formally announced that nighttime is ending at AK.I am pretty sure I saw something to the contrary and I am digging for it. However, this article says:

Jungle Book: Alive with Magic -- the riverfront show that's been running twice a night to mixed reviews this summer -- will come to a close after Sep. 5, and with that we'll see the end of the 11 p.m. closing times. Disney plans to keep the nocturnal safaris, nighttime entertainment, and animated Tree of Life awakenings going, but Mother Nature may have other plans.
The park will start closing at 9 p.m. next month, but that will drop to as early as 7 p.m. come October. By the time November rolls around, the posted closings times drop to as early as 6 p.m., and that's even during the otherwise busy Thanksgiving Day weekend.
Are they blind to how stupid this is? Are we as consumers?
Don't answer that...I don't need to hear it...
On a non-marvel note...another problem is that their recent "big" movies have zero staying power. Like guardians.
I still get a bit of the warm and fuzziness from finding nemo...is that gonna happen for dory? I think not.
And anyone try to watch "the force awakens" again? I have and I can't make it through it. Like a bland story shot in fast forward. There's some whispers that ford basically had it written to suit him...and boy does that seem right...
They didn't hit the emotional vein when they stuck the needle in...
Is this where we're going? Do we have major story problems across all of Disney?
...somedays...you gotta wonder?

Yes TGMR might close in 2017 if that plan gets announced when it's rumored too. Thanks rteetz. Knew Star Wars and Toy Story wouldnt be done by then but rumours of TGMR closing and not a big ToT fan doesnt leave much to do there. Also saw on another post that Avatar is pushing back to Fall opening but 5-6 months ago there were rumours of early 2017.
I know it will be an amazing trip no matter how much is open as MK should be ok and first time staying on-site. Just amazes me prices going up when there is so much less to do currently. Wonder how much they will go up once its finished![]()
Not quite. The coaster would use a show building as far as I know.I also just read the rumor on Disney Tourist Blog that they will doze UoE and a GOG coaster may be done instead. If that is true. . . are you freakin kidding me!!!![]()
Debate about GOG belonging on Epcot (which I don't think it does) but a COASTER IN EPCOT???!!! OH HELL NO!!!!
I agree UoE is in desperate need of an update, but not just ANYTHING jammed in there.
I could get totally lambasted for saying this but... it is in any way possible that Guardians of the Galaxy could be a cool ride AND have a science/technology/future educational element, i.e. Mission Space?
Considering the heat they took for shoehorning Olaf's Happy Showboat into Norway, don't you think they may try to incorporate some of the original Epcot theming into the new GotG ride? Perhaps in the pre-show or upon exiting the ride?
I'm just saying, it could happen. Disney could find a way to do it, maybe even pleasing the Epcot die-hards AND the thrill ride junkies.
While true Disney does tend to use the same companies for most of their projects. Hubbard is doing the demo at DHS for example. They also did the demo at MK for fantasyland. Whiting turner did frozen, and is also working on DHS.
...of course...how can you suck change orders out of the client if you get done on time![]()
Change orders give me nightmares. Please don't say those words.
Double post sorryI'd hate to see Figment lose his attraction, but the original version was so much better than the two subsequent revisions.
"Well we moved this room at the direction of your company's project director, so, we're gonna need a change order."
Are you saying they break their legs to keep them quiet/not submit change orders?
That's BRILLIANT!!!
..what big ten school was that at, again?
