Just heard really sad news....

Two days ago, a little boy at my DS's school was hit by a truck on his way home from school. Apparently, the crossing guard instructed him to stop, but he ran into the path of an oncoming truck. Needless to say, the little boy sustained serious head injuries.

I just found out that he passed away earlier this afternoon. He was 9 yrs. old.

I'm heartbroken over this and I can't even begin to imagine what that poor family is going through. I will call the school tomorrow to see if there is anything that we can do for the family.

Parents, please remind your children about proper street safety.

Oh Rita that is just heartbreaking and the sad thing is I can see John-Cole playing and not thinking and doing the same thing. I am going to show him this thread and stress again how important it is to pay attention.

Unfortunately, many of the students witnessed the accident and all are aware of what happened.

On our way home today, we saw a memorial where the accident happened with balloons, teddy bears, cards, etc. Just so sad....
