Thanks, everyone. DS seems to be doing great (other than he's now picked up a sore throat so I'm bracing for the 3 of to be sharing a cold over the vacation). Since he'd had the sore throat since Monday I DID take him to the doc this morning just get a quick strep test to be sure it wasn't anything we needed antibiotics for. It was negative...WHEW.

The Aulani threads are killing me to watch. We would've been there starting yesterday. Tomorrow we leave on our consolation prize trip to SSR. Got 2 new tires, oil change & an alignment so hopefully we're good to go. The car repair shop guy said something about me needing new wheel bearings or something so I hope that's not a critical repair 'cuz I didn't do 'em. He said they just make the truck have a weird whup, whup, whup sound when I drive. Since I'm already used to that sound I'm sure I can deal with it for a couple more thousand miles.

I just sure hope it turns out to be an OK trip as it sure hasn't been easy getting to this point.

You are braver than I am...if a mechanic suggests something, I am inclined to get it done. I'm taking my 14 year old Saturn to Cape May next week, 600 miles. It's gotten the OK. I'm so looking forward to seeing the shore!

Since we had to buy a new car for DH last week and the tires & alignment weren't planned expenses (they never are) I just wanted to do what we HAD to do for the moment...I also just didn't have a lot of time to futz around. He said to just take care of it when we get back. For now, it's just whup, whup, whup when I drive!! I just hope he's right. I've been going to him since like 1984 so I gotta trust him.
