So we had our planning session this past friday. It was awesome. I was concerned that I didn't have photos of flowers and decorations I liked, but it didn't matter. I had already asked about bringing our centerpieces, so Rose and Carol both knew what I was going for. It felt like we were there for a long time, but it was only a little over 2 hours. I guess I had more decided on that I thought. I had brought a pic of my dress and my bridesmaids( style 6460 if you go to the website-oops), and a swatch from the bridesmaids. So I went through the typical who's in the bridal party, who will be walking, our officiant, photographer, and we decided to use disney videography. I was a little leary to start adding extras, knowing I would get carried away. But my father was having fun, so he started adding stuff. Let's wait to see our BEO before he agrees to it though . We had Rose for our floral. She is great. I'm kind of letting her do what she wants with the floral, as that's not my thing. I just picked a couple bouquets and what I liked and colors to use. We're going to use corals, oranges, pinks, blushes, and ivory. My bouquet is going to be colorful, with the bridesmaids bouquets being ivory and blusher roses and corals and oranges as accents. I kind of went the other way that most people do with floral. We decided to add characters, and the major domo ( my fiance couldn't resist pulling the joke on his best man), and we're going to have caricature artists. Hopefully it all comes close to budget. We don't need any of it, but it would be fun.

The cakes were awesome. We are using the coral and shells cake. Our bottom layer is going to be chocolate and Bailey's mousse(It was hard to decide between the Bailey's and the Amaretto), our second layer is going to be marble and tropical mousse. I was really unsure about the tropical mouse, but it's really good. It has a strong taste of pineapple. And our top layer is going to be chocolate and bavarian mousse.

We got to do our food tasting too. OMG it was fantastic. It is a little weird having 3 people just watching you eat, but it was good. They made a ton of food too. We weren't sure if we should eat a little or what, but then we got into it and we had it all. I don't like seafood at all, but we're having a mahi, and I even thought it was good. Not great, as I would choose something else, but definitely could eat it. And we switched out the desserts and are just going to do white chocolate and milk chocolate fondue with lots of berries, marshmallows, pound cake, and other goodies.

I'm soo excited now. Going to the planning was like I'm definitely getting married at Disney. It's going to be soo much fun.

Sorry I don't have pics, but we have a crappy computer. So until we get a new one, I don't have pics.

Thanks for sharing!!!!! I'm so glad to hear that you had such a great experience planning! Your cake sounds sooo good... I could really use a piece right about now! ;) I agree with adding the bells and whistles for now until you get the BEO. At least then you know how much everything will cost and you can have an easier time deciding on what you need, what you want, and what you really should get rid of. Congrats! I can't wait to hear more about your wedding!!! :wizard:

Congratulations on the wedding planning! Once you start to get into it it is so easy to get swept away! We are going down in July to get some of our planning done and I think I will get that hit of reality that I am actually getting married at Disney then!

It sounds like you had an amazing time!!! Our planning session is in Aug.
I wasn't really looking forward to going, but you made sound like a great experience I just might be changing my mind
The caricature artists are they provided through Disney or is it someone from the Orlando area? Do they stay for the whole reception or for only a certain time? and if you don't mind posting it how much does it cost to have them?
We were thinking of having something like that too.

A caricature artist would be fun! Your signature says you are having a familymoon. Do you mind if I ask if you have children going with you?

I am also curious on the cost of having the caricature artists. I think it's such a fun favor and would definitely personalize your wedding!!! I can't wait to hear more about it!

I should get my BEO in the next 2 weeks. So I'll let you know. The las time I heard on here, they were about $500 for 3 hours.
