This might help someone some day.... :rotfl2:

I called today to pay the balance of my bill, which is due tomorrow.
I have been planning this trip for months..... My Birthday Jan16, My Brides Birthday Jan10th, and our wedding will be Jan 14th

Birthday Dinner at House of Blues - Canceled
Honeymoon Dinner at Narceeses - Canceled
Castle Lunch at MK - Canceled

"Sorry Sir, nothing we can do... they have been canceled in our computer and we have no more seating's on those days and times you asked for."

I quietly have a heart attack and keep my cool "What is happening? We need to figure this out!" We go round-and-round...and round, but nothing is making sense from the cancellation notes she is reading to me.

I ask, "Why would I cancel on all those specal days? Whitout making new plans? I would never do that!"

Two weeks ago, I did change some meal times. Canceled old reservations and made new times ( after extending my trip an extra day) ...since now I had more time to spread out some of my dining.

She puts me on hold, I'm worrying on my end of phone
Comes back a few minutes later- "nothing we can do"
What?!
Another long wait on hold...She's talking to her boss, now I'm worried
"Sorry they are gone, we are out of luck"
Then another long wait (seemed that way, problaly only 3 minutes)

.....Then finally, the nice lady at Disney has a Idea.
We are looking at your reservations under your 444-1234 phone number which you must have used when you first called. But when you called to do some time changes you used your home office number of 444-6666 and guess what? ALL YOU RESERVATIONS ARE FINE WHEN I LOOK THEM UP UNDER THE NEW NUMBER. I was looking under you home phone # and that's why I only saw the cancellations but not the new improved times.

Okay after 30 minutes of sweating the torture is over.
We both had a laugh and I thought I'd write my story here, to show that- the Disney computers store your reservations under Phone numbers and if you call from work instead of home and give them a different number you might get old data. :badpc:

I'm just glad I had my little scare now instead of at the lobby during check-in 45 days from now. :cool1:

I'm not happy, that I have two files floating around in the Disney Main computer, One file has bad dates and the wrong info, and the other file has good dates and updated info. Seems like a accident waiting to happen? Why don't they just stick with your one Client File Ref# that they gave me when I booked my hotel and package, instead of using phone numbers? ( I have 3 phones )

Whoa....what a close call!!!! SOOOOOO glad you were able to find them! Boy oh boy will you two have a fantastic celebration at WDW amidst birthdays and a wedding!!!

I know exactly how you feel because that happened to me just yesterday afternoon. I had called WDW from work to let them know we were bringing an extra adult along for the first 3 days of our visit - dear stepdaughter found out that she could come for a couple of days afterall - and to change the number of adults on our first 3 nights' ADRs from 2 to 3. The CM, Rainbow, was wonderful and we eventually got it all straightened out, but for a minute or two there I was definately not a happy camper.

Wow! I'm glad you got that straightened out. I would have been freakin out.

Have a great wedding and birthday trip.

When you cancelled and rescheduled, you would have received new confirmation numbers for the rescheduled times. You can always look up any PS/ADR directly via the confirmation number, without using the phone number at all.

That's just one more reason for writing them down and keeping them somewhere in your planning files.

Good Advice.

But what made the scare even worse, was that I had my new ADR numbers and it still didn't help.

Since I asked her to double check all my ADR's
She just asked for my phone number, pulled up her list, and then started reading my ADR's, when I asked why 3 are now missing? And I read-off the 3 new numbers

She says- "I see 6 of your ADR's but those new numbers are not even on the screen"

At this point we already have a problem and I was not smart enough to say....Lets start over and not use the phone number method.

Instead, my reaction is...can you read me that list again? We must have missed them? And then we get into the notes about old canceled numbers and the mess begins.

Is there a place on the web where I can print out my list of ADR's or at least check them myself in the future?

I thought it was funny that they send me my scedule and payments due, but don't give me a copy of my ADR's until I check in at the hotel.

I tried to look at my account a few times when I was booking my trip but the Disney web site was always "Too many people, check back later"
So I gave up on the on-line stuff.

I'm one of those people that likes to have everything in writing before I travel. Maybe I should try and check out the web site again?

I always knew my master reservation number and used only that when making ADRs and other requests.

That might help as well.

I like your way better. For my next trip....when they ask for my phone number I'm going to give them my Master Reservation#.... I always have all my info in front of me when i call in.

Sorry, no.

Glad you found them, scary scene for sure.

I have a friend that works for DRC and he said the more you tweak your ADRs and room reservations the more likely you are to end up with problems. That everytime someone has to go into your reservation and do anything you increase the change of it getting messed up.

So he advised me to try very hard to know in advance what I want, make them and then leave them alone. :flower:

Of course for some DISers that would be just about impossible, :)

An excellent lesson to be learned. Thanks for surviving the shock and living to tell us what to be on the lookout for!

I'd hate for them to use my work phone number to track anything -- I'm on our city's digital system and it will simply roll any outgoing call to the next available line. I can call home 100 times and I'd bet the caller ID would be different for each and every call! I can only imagine what a mess that would create. Instead, I'll stick with my cell phone -- the same number every time, no long distance, and it'll be the same phone I'll have with me at the parks.

Unless the system has changed recently, the phone number that goes into the system is the number you give them - it doesn't automatically pick up the number you're calling from.

I always call using my cell, but I always give them the home number.
